Mr Blobby
Welcome Joel. very good signing tried signing him a couple of years ago but he didn't feel ready to come over at the time. Pickering starting at reserve looks to be the trump card for us come next season. Will always leave us with a high scoring reserve. with 10.10 remaining for the final two riders it will be interesting to see what route we go down. Go with either a 8/7 with a 2/3 or more solid with a 6 and a 4 point rider to finish. Just need to wait and see. Baldyman
So are we to take it there isn't the 7 average rule anymore in this division??
Fozzie4388
I'm wondering where does the 5.20 figure mentioned on Edinburgh's website come from? Do Buster and Co at the head quarters just put some numbers in a hat and draw one at random nowadays?
Baldyman
Apparently every new foreign rider will be assessed on a case by case basis. So that's why Joel has the average given. Now if that's not open to corruption I don't know what is.. Anyway. Good luck to both Edinburgh and Joel.
Bagpuss
Case by case basis? Deary me, what a farce. Absolutely nothing against Edinburgh before people start getting defensive but how on earth can a rider who has been a world under 21 finalist and ridden in the Elitserien come in on anything lower than seven? The sport gets more and more shambolic by the day. No idea why there are two different font sizes! Mr Blobby
Apparently you use his Premiership average of 4.00 and use the new 1.3 multiplier to get his 5.20 average.
Bagpuss
He shouldn't come in to the Prem on a 4 anyway!

JanAndersen
Love the seethe. Edinburgh promotion again proving they’re just slightly more switched on that the average. 1 1
Baldyman
At the end of every season...every speedway rider should have or be given an average which is in black and white there for all to see.

Every rider in the world? That would be a hugely resource heavy piece of work and most of the results would ultimately not be used.

Of course they could. To suggest foul play is quite poor IMO. Edited December 14, 2017 by JanAnderson
Baldyman
So where is the logic in say ipswich German rider with very little experience and none in a professional league on a 5 average against Joel on a 5.2?? When before this week or month or whatever ..Joel would have been a 7 Edited December 14, 2017 by Baldyman
scaramanga
but would that club even though sugesting it be allowed that we will never know its clear for all to see that ALL teams with a representative on the bspa pannel or whatever pannel they are on gets away with more than the ones who are not which team never has long breaks in there fixtures oh yes its the team whos reresentative aranges the fixtures the same team that a few years ago wouldnt rearange a rain of becaus e a rider was washing there hair stopping a team of reaching playoffs

Baldyman
That's not the answer lol. Maybe ipswich had thought about it ..but didn't because they thought he was a 7 as he would previously have been. Surely even the most dumbest speedway fan can see a case by case basis is open to mischief.
