eric i
A far better performance from Scunny than I expected, better racing being on a Friday night, unfortunate that Douglas reared and fell in one race,Kerr had engine failure when 1st and Auty fell when he ran out of track on second bend, couldn't understand why Bailey who was completely out of his depth was left in his final ride instead of being replaced by Morris, poor team manager in my opinion but congratulations to Peterborough who did just enough to get through. Dave Peat has given Bailey his 4 ride all season not ruthless enough IMO. Track was slick tonight but was consistent and well prepared, glad to hear its back to Friday nights next year. I thought the firework display really typified Scunny's season....hope nobody was hurt.
New era Panthers
3 heat winners out of 15, awful stuff from the Panthers. Only bacon can hold his head high. Will be spanked next round if we ride like that. I couldn't believe just how bad they were , just wish I hadn't wasted my time effort and money to witness this absolute gutless performance, Tom Bacon is the only one to come out of this with any credit . If they ride at Workington on Saturday anything as bad as this then they are in for a real good thrashing . So much for all the hype (we are going there to win ) perhaps Carl Johnson should have told the riders that was the plan. Just not good enough. If that's there attitude then it's time those concerned to be told to find another club .
bigcatdiary
Track looks in perfect nick: https://twitter.com/SpeedwayScunny/status/913792716902936577 All the best Rob Perfect nick, the track was totally devoid of shale, it was so slick it completely ruined any chance of real racing although we did have a couple of good heats towards the end as Bomber got really dialled in but it was hard for the others especially early on as the track was set up clearly as the Scorpions top 5 wanted it and they were all very quick from the traps from the start. Racing overall was poor and judging by the attendance (about 250) it wasn’t the big turn out expected, as for the track specialist Richie Worrall, we couldn’t decide whether he was just poor because of the track or looking ahead for his team Glasgow, either way is wasn’t good. Always been the same with guests so why anyone is even contemplating (if indeed they are) starting with one hand tied behind their back and working around a rider in 2018 is baffling. sharpandroid
Great meeting, good result, Friday at 19.30 much better, poor crowd level, glad I went, Crazy Frog ?
MD
Richie Worrall is poor in the slick. Tracks this time of year are prepared that way to cope with the rain. Put a bit of dirt down and you've got a different rider.
June
Had the Scunthorpe riders put the same effort into some of the past meetings. we may have lifted ourselves off the bottom half of of the league. They looked different in this meeting they rode with intention. I do believe we could have made up the 18pts Peterboro lead, however luck wasn't with us. Kerr with an easy looking win when the engine just died on him, that 5.1 ( another 4pts ) Ryan's rear-up at start and exclusion and then Josh in the lead having nowhere to go but into the fence. Wasn't to be, so good luck to Peterboro in next round. I must say how good it was back to Friday night racing!

eric i
There is David Bellego but I guess he was referring to Berge

I don't agree the track ruined any chance of real racing..I thought the racing last night was excellent, all riders deserve credit for that I sometimes wonder what we expect as fans, last night we had a smooth, fair and consitant surface which riders were prepared to have a go on,we had a dead duck of a fixture which for a while looked like it could be a unbelievable come back,we two had full teams,no real fallers...no RR and fired though in less that 90mins on a mild Autumn evening...and a fair result If that doesn't keep fans happy well I don't know what else a promotion can do to please
