Not sure why they'd make a decision like this so early? What if they had to drop a Brit to fit him in (Nielsen) because his average improved? If he's on a 5.20 ave might be worth bringing him in now to replace Manzares who has been in poor form for a while?

IronScorpion
A much needed point, hard earned at Peterborough last night & looking at the league table we need to take all the points tonight at Berwick as there is a big gap to overcome. Losing 2 at home & the one at Redcar has hurt us & we cannot afford any more slip ups. I have evened the table up for teams to ride at least 6 at home & this is what I see Peterborough .................Meetings 12 Home 7 Points 29 Workington ....................Meetings 13 Home 6 Points 29 Lakeside .........................Meetings 11 Home 6 Points 25 Edinburgh .......................Meetings 12 Home 6 Points 20 Glasgow .........................Meetings 10 Home 6 Points 19 Scunthorpe ................... Meetings 10 Home 6 Points 13 This is not counting 2 teams that have decent home records & could come into the reckoning.
Sidney the robin
Really great to see Josh Auty back on track this year 13 double figure scores out of 19 matches pretty good.I just hope he can get a Prem place sorted again next year as he needs that.
IronScorpion
A dilemma for Rob in the next week. Knowing he will be getting his main 5 together at the end of the month, can we afford TWO miss firing reserves. Manzares needs help & Danny or both could do to see James Shanes sports therapist, as it has worked wonders for him. With averages tumbling, does he make 2 changes with what he has got now(7.22) or wait until our riders are back & hopefully get a bit of confidence. At the next change in averages, we will only have about 6.2 to play with with no changes allowed after the 12th August.

Scorpison
Scunny seem to think that there is no need for reserves, since 2012 we have always had at least one dummy as reserve, Rob does not seem to understand that teams cannot win anything with non-scoring reserves, we have prooved this over the years, he has dumped our dead wood this year, but once again we are not scoring any points from reserves, this week we scored ONE POINT from 9 reserve rides at Peterborough, and ONE POINT at Berwick from 8 reserv rides, neither rider beat an apponant. Wallinger seems to be Robs guest choice when a reserve rider is needed, he has scored ZERO POINTS from 11 rides, this is pathetic, and no wander gates have fallen off alarminly, our supporters are sick of being in the bottom three year after year. I think having the injuries you have had this year has hurt you more than the reserves and remember Manzares has had a few knocks this year. The team that started the season Worrall,Auty,Garrity,Allen,Nielsen ( an awesome top 5) who would want more than that injuries have taken there toll and guests and R/R have not been ideal. With the top 5 we put together there was no way you would get two strong reserves. Danny was always brought in to make the numbers up and whatever he scored was a bonus it was Gino who the big points were expected of and after starting well has tailed off massively, maybe it is time for a change there before it’s too late but we will have to wait and see

Albert
Gino's form of late has been poor for numerous reasons, injuries and mechanical issues being the main ones... but Gino has proved he has the ability to score well and be a top reserve in this league. Hopefully he can get his problems solved and can soon get amongst the points again....the kid just needs a change of luck.

Sadly, his injury at the SoN, mechanical issues & losing his mechanic means he is doing everything himself. He has even moved in at the EWR to save on traveling to home meetings. He still represents himself & the club in the after-meeting clubhouse talks but you can tell he is a bit down. Most riders will tell you that the sport is a confidence issue. Scorpison
What I was trying to point out is, that we always have at least one dummy at reserve, this has been the case since 2012 the last time when we had scoring reserves of MPToft and Garry Irvine, since then we have had the likes of Armstrong from Australia, Josh Bailey, Matt Williamson (112 races before a reserve race win), and now Phillips who is now averaging about 1.3. Remember that with us having so many injuries, these reserves are often required to ride either RR races or stand in after a rider is injured, no matter what some of you are saying, teams cannot carry reserves that as a pair, are scoring 1 point between them in 8 races, and at Peterborough and Berwick this weekend 2 points from 17 races, these two points coming from our third and fourth places in the reserves race, this is pathetic in anyones langauge. Supporters get fed up with this situation, and although I had not missed a home meeting for 8 years, two weeks ago for the first time, I actually did not bother to go, and last week against Edingburgh, there could not have been any more that 300 turned out, on a nice sunny day, having supported Scunthorpe Speedway since Quibell Park, Ashby Ville and now the EWR, I am just pointing this out because like a few more, I want Speedway to continue at Scunthorpe.
