Scunthorpe Scorpions 2018

Recommended Posts

18.10.3   This rule is in bold so is new this year. Any rider that is in a current 1-7 can guest in either league. If the rider does not have a MA in the league he will be guesting in, then the 1.3 conversion applies. His then average must be lower than the rider he is replacing. A rider may guest only once within an 8 day period unless he is replacing a home teams no1.

Looking at the guests Rob has chosen, even though we performed very well last week, he does not want to give riders, in our league, any practice on our track. Pre season, I think it has been noted, that when we had a private practice on a Wednesday, Ipswich were also here. Sheffield, being here next week, is a perfect example of not using Howarth tonight.

Didn't Sheffield do something along those lines a couple of seasons ago when Stead got injured ?

Seem to think Brady Kutrz riding alot for them ?

It is in the SS as well as D Peet's verdict putting the incident of Manzares's engine blowing up as the reason for our defeat. Instead of being level at 12 all we were 14-10 behind. There were still 11 heats remaining so saying we were playing catch up, & all the riders were trying, there were other areas to explore & these must be put right. We even tried the t/s in heat 6 using Auty for Phillips. IF ONLY Steve was there it could have been a different story, with it being his home track for the last few years, as a few pointers could have been passed on.

In theory it's for 28 days. But you can then re-apply again and again and again. So it shouldn't be (and usually isn't) a problem as long as He keeps submitting Sick notes. You might have had a problem if he got injured riding for Belle Vue BEFORE turning out for you as a facility isn't always allowed if a rider hasn't rode in the current) or at the end of the last) season for the team concerned . That's why Poole had to sign Kildemand on a temp contract to replace Holder. You will have a problem if he starts riding for Belle Vue and/or Poland and you are still using a facility for him. Unlikely, it's true, but it has happened.

Well, in this scenario its probably be 'likely' that a guest option will be available, until he is fit to ride,,, wether it be Scunny or Belle Vue, yeah ?

With Stefan now 4th in the averages, Garrity, Allen & reserves can take his rides but it is the issue of having a guest for Steve at 1 that could be the bigger issue. Losing another rider in a meeting could mess things up. Hoping that all the others are fit r/r for Steve & guest for Stefan might be a better option. Heavy rain forecast Friday so the meeting at Glasgow might not take place but lets see how our management think. There are a few meetings programmed for Friday so guests would be limited.

Jorgensen looked a potentially decent temporary replacement for Nielsen, but now that won’t happen  seeing as he’s singed for Redcar.

Average is too high anyway 7.77, we have 7.15 to play with.

Lyager would come in on a 7, he rides in Denmark (mainly Wednesday) and hes the number 8 for Czestochowa (mainly sunday) so he might be keen to get some more rides as he doesn't seem to get many in Poland.

Great shout actually isn't it time we actually got to see what Lyager could do over a sustained period. He certainly looked the part in his very short stint here last time ?. I believe we have to restore the team to a 1-7 asap. Yes we can run r/r and book guests but personally I want to see a full team out there of Scunthorpe riders not a "pick n mix" select that really saps the interest out it ! ?

I noticed that after I posted. I thought he’d use the Championship average he got last season of 7.10.

Lyager would be an excellent option but wouldn’t you want to save his 7.00 average (which would probably go up if he came in this season) for another year when he can do a full season?!

Well not really, Scunthorpe have a good chance of winning the league this year if they play their cards right so if they feel Lyager will improve the team then they have to do it...

That’s true. I meant if Lyager came in temporarily for Nielsen. It depends how long he’ll be out for.
