I think Danny will struggle big time. He's just came back from a serious injury and reserves this season are much stronger than last. I think he needs a season in the National League. Just my opinion. Don't shoot me down.

I agree or maybe the first half of the season just nl and if come come June or July he's scoring big he will soon be snapped up on a 2.00 .

I don't see there's any rush for him just yet he's injury was pretty serious so I think it's better for him to just focus on fitness with less pressure .

As above don't shoot me down but I feel it's the sensible option.

The reports I have had back about how his sessions have gone is very positive, but thats like racing on your own without the hurly burley of normal racing.

One thing I am pleased about is he hasn't signed for us, as the pressure on him with his father a promoter would be immense and not fair.

Totally agree. Although he might still do a better job for Scunny than the few names mentioned to fill their last place.

What has the delay actually been in announcing the rider?

I believe that they originally said the announcement would be made after the winter series and open days and the one that impressed the most would get the final spot in the team.  I think the weather put paid to most, if not all, of those.

Agree. Just needs time to feel his way back in.

I wouldn't be concerned about Scunthorpe not naming their number 7. In 2002 Hull Vikings didn't name their number 7 till everyone turned up at the press and practice day.

Although I hope for Scunthorpe's sake it's not David Speight like it was for Hull

Something tells me, we wont have to wait much longer, got a feeling something may be announced at Meet the Riders on Friday night

This is how i expect the riders meet and greet evening to go ...

"Ladies and gentlemen, and now we have some exciting news, i'm sure you are all happy with how our team has been assembled, so without further delay, i would like to present to you the final member of our team........ Please give a warm welcome to...... David Speight". ..David brings with him a wealth of experience from over the years, and we are confident the former Owlerton track specialist can transfer some of this track knowledge to his new home here at Scunthorpe.  The Scorpions were all but nailed on to sign Hot shot Saul Bulley but a late decision by Saul to pull out and pursue a career at Halfords threw the Scorpions into disarray. They were then 50/50 and undecided between Speight and fellow National League high flier Andy Mellish, however it was the latter who got the nod from Scorpions bosses after hours of discussions and negotiations.  A full press conference is scheduled for Tues 6th March @ 10:15am.

Not quite true.  He has become a Diamonds asset, he has not been declared in the 1-7 for 2018.
