Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Nss, 27/9/17... Playoff Semi Final 2nd Leg.

Recommended Posts

That would be a joke, as already suggested the sensible option would be to have it next Monday with the 1st leg of the final on the Wednesday and the 2nd leg the following Monday. The bspa have scheduled the premiership and championship playoffs on different days for a reason

Maybe next year the bspa might schedule the meetings better so that we do not have breaks in June and July and then not a mad panic at the end of the season.

Forecast from Met Office now looking worse, heavy rain from 18.00 until the early hours of Thursday.

As well as the rider commitments detailed already, Fricke, Bjerre, Worrall and Lindgren are riding in the Czech Golden Helmet on Sunday and Bewley and Smith, if fit, in the Golden Ribbon meeting on Saturday.

It's looking almost impossible to rearrange before Monday if it doesn't go ahead tonight.

And my weather app is showing rain Monday afternoon and evening

Here's a solution - run the 2nd leg on Monday, the first leg of the final next Wednesday and the second leg at Swindon the following Monday (to replace the relegation playoff). That way everyone gets to see the racing!

EDIT - And Swindon fans get to see their team lift the trophy at home this year

If it doesn't go ahead tonight then it's only fair Wolves are sent through to the final. Belle Vue will have had two attempts to stage the meeting.

More importantly, I remember how upset many Belle Vue fans were last year they were robbed because they finished above Wolves in the table and it was clear how important this issue was too them. Too often rulings go against Belle Vue so this time the BSPA should adhere to the Aces fans wishes and send the higher placed team through.

Which is why I will be doing a rain dance next monday in Swindon. We ended up top and should be able to choose home or away first.

The Polish and Swedish league season start after ours and finish before ours its as if they know its a summer sport.

As you say if they got on with the season we could finish earlier and perhaps miss some of this weather.

Ps and get the knockout cup done and dusted before the playoffs start the final is still not in the fixture list yet.

Championship final tomorrow, u21 final Friday, Poland Sunday.....reckon it'll be Monday. Which would mean the final moving to Wednesday & Thursday perhaps, Swindon home 2nd

If BT had not changed things from normal Swindon would have chosen the 2nd leg.

The following monday might be better for Swindon.

Why are you being so negative? Thorsells injury was unfortunate. Lindgren can take an R/R, which means if he is on his game he can score 18, he is a class above every Belle Vue rider, this year. If Schlein, Riss & Masters can add a few second places Wednesday, 13 points is a defend-able advantage to take to NSS. Howarth & Greaves need to nick a few thirds also.

It's called being a realist.

Masters is out of form since coming back from injury, Rory scored 5 on his only visit this year whilst Howarth has been their once for 7 points.

It's the play offs, I get it, riders step their game up or fold under pressure.

We have lost by 13 and 16 on the encounters this season. Is losing by 20 without your number 2 really being negative? I don't think so.

BT aren't really in a position to call the shots, the BSPA are paying them to show it, so they'll just have to change their schedule a bit.

So how come if that's the case BT didn't change their schedule tonight ... BT couldn't care less if they show it or not IMO.. Speedway is just a slot filler to them Edited by KEITH M

Because their schedule is full of champions league football tonight which they paid a fortune for, they had no input into the rescheduled date otherwise it wouldn't have been tonight
