Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Nss, 27/9/17... Playoff Semi Final 2nd Leg.

If you don't run your regular league fixtures before the cut off then it's tough. BV should be told, run it before Monday or forfeit the tie.

I'm quite sure Belle Vue would be willing to do that, but it would mean less than half a Wolves team.

Not what you want for a play off semi final.

Semi Monday, Final Wednesday/Thursday seems the best way to go now.

With BT not due to broadcast tonight anyway, I suppose we could just forget about lack of dates, rider availability and neutral tracks and revert to the good old fashioned method - declare Swindon Robins as Champions based on the simple fact that they topped the League Table!!

Surely the obvious thing to do as BT Sport have announced they are showing Speedway on the 9th(relegation/promotion) is to show Belle Vue v Wolves next Monday and then final on Wed 4th and Mon 9th. then they all can decide on the Prom/Relg match whether they show it on a different date.

I did say last week, "Heavens help us if we get rain next week" and guess what? My prediction came true. Good old Sod's Law eh?

We do paint ourselves into a corner don't we? Reading the above, we're faced with guests and/or track availability and/or TV "requirements". This is descending into farce.

Why is this always the stock response from speedway fans?

Why is it a farce? A meeting has been rained off, it's nothing new.

There is plenty of time to run it.

Because we give ourselves no wiggle room at a time of the year when rain is a distinct possibility. And do you think the farcical (whoops there's that word again) relegation meetings should be run at all, given air time and squeeze forward the play offs? You're right, there is plenty of time to run the play offs. But there is a chance a really good meeting, be it the end of a semi or a leg or two of the final, might not be on TV. Is that silly or just farcical?

No there is not. Certain riders are off to Australia for the GP and certain riders contracts could have ended.

BV can run tomorrow and Friday not a problem but do you think wolves want that?? We could of run it last Saturday on a double header with the Colts but do you think wolves would of wanted that? This is the league title were talking about and you wanted it decided by the weather. Might as well give up if that's the case, race for 6 months but if your semi is rained off your out.

riders contracts run until 31st October. Riders don't leave for Aussie until gone 21st October. Plenty of time.

So three weeks to run three meetings.

As I said, plenty of time. If it's shown on TV, all well and good, if not, so be it. Might make for a bigger crowd.

Yep spot on.
