montie
Why was Jake Allen not in heat 15 ? His injury was a little sore so he sat it out.and a fine home debut it was from him to,certain Home riders could learn a thing or two I dont mind getting beaten by better teams, despite not such a successfull season ive still quite enjoyed my speedway this year but.......when supporters pay their £15 to go in they expect riders to try Yesterday i saw pain an simple, riders not trying and riders giving up, no ifs or buts, that was fact, the club and its fans deserve better ,alot better and would it be possible to have a home meeting where Tero`s bike doesnt break down? Well done to the Monarachs on a fine win
sharpandroid
It's almost as if success isnt part of the plan for the Scorpions, are there any benefits from losing to certain teams?

IronScorpion
Very difficult conditions for the riders to ride in with heat times some 6 seconds slower than normal. Rob said it was a meeting of 2 halves & he hit the nail on the head, gating. The first half of the meeting, once you had gated or in front exiting bend 2 that was it, filling in everyone behind. The 2nd half, Edinburgh gated & couldn't be caught resulting in some riders giving up either from bike getting filled in, thus not performing or riders getting filled in thus not seeing where they were going. The attendance looked poor, maybe due to the weather forecast but another loss does not bode well for next Sunday or for the, hopeful, increase the following Friday. Having, basically, 4 heat leaders that can't average 7 shows our inconsistency this season with Wilko, as he put it in the SS this week, the scapegoat. He rode to his 5-6 point average expected of him & it is the top 1-4 that should carry the blame, or part of it. What a home debut for Allen, hats off young man to perform manoeuvres like he did especially in heat 8 when he rode the outside into bend 3, cutback at the apex, straighten the bike up, got the speed straight away to pass Pickering was a scene I have not seen for a very long while. Kenni Larsen did a similar move back in '09 or '10 showing excellent bike control. You see similar cutbacks from Tai in the GP's when he is in gates 3 or 4, cannot get round the outside so cuts back entering bend 1 at the start of races. Good to see bike & throttle control.
Gr8scot
Can't see us getting any points tomorrow either but you never know Oh ye of little faith 😛
TheScotsman
Though Briggo's phenomenal mandatory hyper-expensive dirt deflectors were meant to do away with riders being filled in?

I remember him scoring double figures there one night for us , beating Magnus Karlsson along the way . Glad the boy had a decent meeting .
lucifer sam
Well done to Edinburgh on a well-deserved win. But yet another meeting thrown away by Scunny. The only bright spot was a brilliant performance by Jake Allen. How well did he do, and he's not even 100% fit yet! You couldn't fault Josh Auty for effort. Elsewhere, it was the same old story. Too many engine problems; too many indifferent rides when the heat was on. All the best Rob Edited September 11, 2017 by lucifer sam

Yesterday, he did well, although he got 6+3 by beating Josh Bailey three times and MPT on a malfunctioning bike. scunny1
Jake, Josh A and Ryan played their part, were the rest of them trying to lower their averages for future employment elsewhere? With Duffy on the infield microphone, it was clear to all Rob was not a happy camper with the team effort either! A meeting thrown away again, at least 4 new faces next year I predict and Friday night racing please.
Albert
A bright start from Scunny.. Edinburgh were a beaten team... then something happened. Pathetic second half from Scunny.. pathetic. Apart from the very impressive Jake Allen and to a lesser extent Josh Auty and Ryan Douglas they were dire. In all my time supporting Scunny, that was an all time low. Certain riders need a good kicking, that was simply unprofessional, they let themselves and their supporters down. romans lovechild
full marks to all riders for getting on with the job,in less than favourable conditions, bends 1 and 2 for the last 5/6 races was just slime on the inside, compared to bends 3/4,if you didnt make the gate and get on an outside run, you had no chance, some scorpions clearly couldnt get on with the track and conditions, but fair play to the monarchs for sticking in there and getting the job done.
phillwhitewasmad
Wonder if the under performing riders understand the impact they have on clubs with there perceived lack of effort. It's not getting beat it's the manner of the defeat that annoyed people round us on Sunday
hunch
Tricky conditions with the same riders as usual giving 100% and the usual suspects waving the white flag when it got tough. Edinburgh stuck at it and thoroughly deserved the win. We haven't been good enough this season so no excuses but it's the first time in many years I have felt so let down by certain riders who clearly don't give a monkeys about the fans. Will be there for the last few meetings to support Rob Godfrey and the riders who do give it a go but if we are to run next year I hope we refresh the team with riders who do care. Jake Allen would be a good start,a breath of fresh air on his debut Edited September 12, 2017 by hunch

I would say probably 5/6 new faces next year with Jake Allen a definate signing and hopefully Stefan Nielsen and a number 1 rider who can reach a 9 point average rather than 7 , unfortunately the current team is built around having solid scoring reserves but this hasn't happened with Aarnio struggling and Bailey out of his depth at times, Friday night for me as well Edited September 12, 2017 by Scunny2012
