Glasgow V Scunthorpe Cl Sat 9th Sept 2017@7pm

Recommended Posts

With a forecast dryish day tomorrow , hopefully we'll get to see some speedway at last . Our injury woes are well documented and are still without Lunna , Bewley and Perry . Kyle Newman comes into replace Nike ( i think ) which would mean r/r for Dan , and Liam Carr comes in for Tom .

I believe Scunny are using r/r for Josh Auty ( no idea what's wrong with him ) , and are using Ryan McDonald as a guest at number 6 .

We have to win this one to get back on track , but the performances of both Ryan Douglas and Lewis Kerr last Saturday should ensure a bit of entertainment . In all honesty our three heat leaders should be looking at a big pay day in this one , but nothing is guarenteed with us lately .

Josh Auty was injured riding for King's Lynn at Wolverhampton, in the same crash that Tom Perry was injured.

Ah ok , I don't really follow the other league that closely .

Wonder if Kyle will put in his travel expenses from home on the south coast despite staying over after Edinburgh tonight 😆😆

This could prove to be a tricky match for the Tigers. We need jack and liam carr to dominate the scunthorpe reserves. We also need no engine failures or tape exclusions and hopefully Tigers win.

Due to the injury to Auty, the only positive I can see is all our riders can take his rides. Kerr & Douglas have ridden up there recently but poor form from Toft, unsure what to expect from Allen after 2 wrist injuries in this last month & a cheap reserve for Aarnio(5 pts to play with & that's all we get). We could have got a point from this with injuries & poor form hitting Glasgow. Unfortunately, this will be an opportunity missed.

Ryan McDonald is the track junior , so presumably a suitable guest for Aarnio couldn't be secured . Look at Sheffield last Saturday , they had two novices in their side as they couldn't get suitable replacements . Didn't stop them coming away with three points though .

Sheffield are a different kettle of fish who used one of our riders as a guest & have only just had their colours lowered in over a dozen meetings.

Enjoyed last night with some good racing and a sunny evening to liften Tigers fans spirits. For us aaron looked better and kyle newman a good guest. Worryingly it looked as if he was also trying out different lines just to test things for next Wednesday and forthcoming play offs. For scunthorpe Kerr and Douglas gave it a go and mpt recovered from a poor first ride. Crowd looked good, lots of kids running in the kids race but still not convinced the intensive grading at heat 10 is required

Entertaining meeting. Kerr, Douglas and Allen showed you dont always have to scrape the boards to find the fastest way round. Allen's ht11 win was superb, sweeping wide into the turns and cutting back to scuff the chalk line on the way out. An intelligent ride prompting Summers tantrum.

Liam Carr did ok at reserve, perhaps we should book him every meeting to give him and us continuity. So now its four meetings in five days starting on Wednesday with Ipswich. Choice of guest for both teams could be crucial.

I would imagine Bewley will be back by Wednesday, won't he?

What's he done - a groin strain?

All the best

Hip flexor according to the programme. He's no use to us half fit or not being able to complete all his races so we will have to see. R/r for Bewley means Summers is the rider above and the guest for Lunna also gets a ride which is preferable IMO. DB hasnt done too much for us this season despite his showings for BV.

I believe James Shanes is our guest reserve on Wednesday , along with Ryan Douglas again . Mason Campton and James Sarjeant at the dump on Friday .

But I agree , Liam Carr rode well last night in what was an entertaining enough meeting , only Scunthorpe's weakness at reserve stopped them pushing us closer as their top end were very good .

Aaron Summers looked a lot quicker last night and Richard was his usual reliable self at home , Richie was up and down , our guest got good practice in before Wednesday and young Jack had his most productive meeting for a while .

Kerr and Douglas were the main men for the Scorpions as expected , Palm Toft had an awful opening ride , but rode well enough after that . Allan was a bit erratic at times , but was the only visitor to lower Aaron's colours .

Decent enough crowd on a pleasant Autumn evening , good atmosphere , only downside was what Tyretrax alluded to . A 16% increase in the price of a pint is a bit naughty .
