racers and royals
Why not ? Swindon would be without Doyle for starters. With Morris and Lahti probably not available as well. hagonshocker
Know you're not asking me but I'd class that as Poole. Westbourne is the tricky one!Ahh wasn't totally certain I do kind of recall it always seemed closer to Poole...thankfully lol...ta
Steve Shovlar
Yep according to google Westbourne is in Bournemouth on route to Poole and according to Wikipedia Branksome is in Poole. The clue is in the name. Westbourne, as in west Bournemouth. The Frizzell roundabout where LV offices are is known as County Gates. Because Hampshire ended here and Dorset began, before Bournemouth became part of Dorset. So LV roundabout is Poole.

So why is Southbourne the other side of Boscombe then? Makes no sense. (Not to mention where Eastbourne is) Having said that I agree Westbourne is part of Bournemouth - and from what I remember a very nice part.

BobC
A few years ago, the full name for the football club was the longest in the Football League Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic Football Club! Now shortened to AFC Bournemouth. Back to thread, best of luck to the Pirates. As things stand, I cant be there to support them. Have to see if work will let me have a half day on Monday. Be there like a shot if I do. Pirates have nothing to lose, where as Swindon have it all to do. Edited September 9, 2017 by BobC

Swindon have it all to do! Actually both teams do - because they both start level!
SteveLyric2
Poole's preview ad says that gates are to open as usual at 6.30pm!! Thought it might be half an hour earlier as is usually the case for the 'big' meetings?

Steve Shovlar
Hopefully Matt will have arranged for the team to have a full afternoons practice on Monday before the meeting so they are dialled in.

salty
Boscombe is in Bournemouth. Agreed. But you miss my point. Your argument was that Westbourne was so named as it was West Bournemouth. I was merely pointing out that Southbourne (being to the East of Bournemouth) was wrongly named. I was merely pointing out that Southbourne (being to the East of Bournemouth) was wrongly named. Not necessarily. Southbourne is the south east suburb of Bournemouth by the sea. Then you have Northbourne. Guess where that is? Only thing misses is Eastbourne which is nowhere to be seen in Dorset and probably not used to avoid confusion with the town in East Sussex. salty
You say South East - I say East. All these suburbs named after it, yet the Bourne is nowt but a wee dribble.

Not sure what this has to do with speedway, but hey ho. Steve is correct. The actual origins of Bournemouth is Holdenhurst Village, out near Bournemouth Airport, (which is in Christchurch by the way!) So Southbourne is actually named correctly.
