How Many Of Us Are Losing Interest.?

Recommended Posts

There's not an awful lot wrong with the rules and the racing for much of the time at NL level.

Would be better if Championship clubs/Premier clubs kept their noses out.

...as long as the rules remain constant and not tinkered with as has often been the case in the past.

Recall John Louis commenting in an interview when Promoter/Team Manager on speedway's ever-changing rulebook.

Rules are obviously very important to some people

I guess to some speedway rules are almost the most important thing there could be.I mean on the one side you have the catholic church and all the child abuse scandals and on the other side you have the double point rule in speedway. Now facing a choice what would most people make a stand against?

Yes,but we have someone who still attends church despite all these terrible actions by catholic church members, but decides the double point rule is the limit and won't attend a speedway meeting until it is dropped!!! A strange world indeed :o

You really can't resist your nastiness can you?

Apart from your bullying and trolling you really are quite a nasty piece of work aren't you.

I know you Posted the above to get a reaction - well - you got one.

It's a pity you can't get a life.

Anyway - continue your nastiness on your own. :)

Many apologies to the Forum Members who are taking part on this very interesting Thread. I will not allow this person to attack me. I will not start anything, but each time he does this I will come back to remind everyone just what kind of person he is - a bully and a Troll. I will not reply to any further comments from him unless he has another go.

Again - many apologies.

I was talking to one of my customers this morning and he is a life long fan, he was saying that he had only been to one meeting this year saying how easy it was to get out of the habit of going, he said there is no loyalty anymore with teams ,when I asked about doubling up , he said it's nonsense and it should only be for young Brits as it was intended , I've been asking various ex riders and fans about doubling up and it's hard to find anybody in favour of it , I think the 26% who voted to keep it were all riders

Nice or not, it seems a valid analogy?

I am prepared to concede that wkha1.

I just didn't like the way that the Post was targeted at one Forum Member.

In all my arguments against Islam, I don't and won't target any Forum Member deliberately.

This was pointed directly at me and I challenge you to say otherwise.

It was directly at you, obviously.

Not sure you could target any posters on here with anti Muslim comments, as I'm not sure there are any openly Muslim posters?

I wouldn't if there were. I would still state my view on the Religion but I would never attack anyone on a personal basis for their beliefs.

Anyway - I don't retract a word of what I Posted in reply.

Must admit I'm in the losing interest category . I've watched as many meetings in Poland this year (4) as I have at Monmore Green.

Weak visiting teams, rider replacement, guests, double headers ,having to share Mondays with Cradley, lack of decent racing, no atmosphere , 18 quid to get in, something had to give. Been going to Wolves every week for 30 years, had a shift change at work requiring me to have more time off to watch speedway and just couldn't justify it, never thought that I would say that I would stop going but this year has been the year.

You are the one who thinks taking a moral stand against a speedway rule is so important that you won't even attend meetings where the rule isn't in use and never let an opportunity pass to tell us.Yet don't make the same sort of stand against the church.Srange.So i couldn't get under the rock, because you have taken up residence a long time ago

The vast majority of my meetings this year have been At NL level. I've done a few top flight meetings, but only one at championship level. This is mainly down to geographics. Living in the south east everything is NL apart from rye, and that suits me fine. My last two meetings at Eastbourne and Kent were run in very wet conditions with full commitment from the riders, which is the way it should be.

The worrying thing is... where will we be in 10 years' time? The SKY cash has been chucked in the wind and, in a way, can count our selves grateful that BT jumped on board and gave it half a season coverage.

Obviously the ones that still attend and will probably ridicule this post and feel that speedway is as good as it was 40, 30 and even 10 years ago. Promoters need not fear for their loyalty. It's the ones who have spent their lives working their way towards their next live speedway event and are now getting out of that habit... that's a worry.

Another winter nears, another five months speedway's problems must be addressed. We don't need GP stars... do we? Just look at the racing from Poole on Monday, in the main from bread an butter guys. It is still thrilling, no question about that.

But it's like a board game bought from the carboot sale right now... all the pieces are there but it has no rules as such.

On here the old folk some of us anyway get slated accused of negativy but as you said where is the forward thinking.? Even if the BT money is there the money is tight so the likes of Doyle may have to be sacrificed for the shorterm at least.I would like to see the regular 1/7 teams back with regular fixtures with clubs living within there means. The rules to be simplified showing that the rules cannot be manipulated by certain people build from there the product is there the potential to improve British speedway is there.
