David Johnston1
Ipswich qualified for the semi finals on April 1st and still waitingvfor dates to be agreed - very apt really!! The KOC was supposed to be an early season competition. Seems strange Berwick and Ipswich were told to race but others seem to do as they please. Just have an Ipswich v Glasgow final and tell the others that they have missed the cut-off date for fixtures.

The main problem was that Newcastle and Workington initially drew on aggregate and there was no golden heat to determine the winners. It's been down hill since then
jenga
rained off eh , i cant understand why Glasgow didnt borrow Berwick.s track covers ! with the championship and the premier league both using the SAME riders , there is going to be a huge backlog of meetings trying to get sorted and all with the same riders . yep , doubling up and down really works .. and dont get me going on the loooong summer break when the sun was out and we had no meetings. but hey , all the other stuff got sorted meeting wise , didnt it ? The only way covers would have worked today was if they were suspended c20 feet above the track and acted like a roof. Even the Berwick management haven't managed to do that, despite being forward thinking etc etc - I think I've got that right

SharpenRake
why 20ft ? So the fans could see the riders under neath the covers 🙃

It's been down hill since then. Edinburgh v Sheffield matches were the same quarter final's stage as Berwick. This tie was completed months later (would have been over a month without a rain-off). Peterborough racing Scunny half way through September in the quarter final's (same round as Berwick and Ipswich had completed by 1st April is a disgrace).
Gazc
With a complete lack of continuity in our home fixtures especially in July Britain's warmest month statistically, we now find ourselves trying to cram meetings in towards the end of the regular season September / October Britain's wettest months statistically. You couldn't make this up absolute madness. But you could make a case for every month to be wetter than the previous month this year. spanner47
I've been spouting on about having a fixture coordinator for years, I never realised we had one. Problem is, Mr Vatcher isn't given enough power. Clubs should not be allowed to say no once, let alone twice. Surely it's better to ride with one rider missing in July than have the current mess we have at the moment. We all want to see our own 7 riders, but in the current climate most fans would accept 6, or maybe even 5, certainly better than some of the joke teams that have been put out lately. Either that or move all Speedway to Ipswich where it only rains once a year when speedway is due.
