Rye House 2018

But even when Rye ran at the weekend I thought you said you only went about 2 times in 20 years!!!!Rye can hardly run successfully based on that sort of fan base

Here we go again, having to put you straight yet again. .

I started out as a fan of the Rockets at Rayleigh in 1971 and was a loyal supporter for the next three decades. In 1999 I was part of the team that revived the Rockets and despite ill-health presented all of the Rockets' 'home' meetings that season.

In 2000 the Silver promotion took over from us and that meant the return to Rye House as part of his management team someone who I detested even more than nasty idiots like you. I worked at Mildenhall and Boston/King's Lynn during 2000 then moved to my current home, about a 250 mile round trip to Rye House. With the management still including the person I refused to have any dealings with I stayed away and tried to build a new life away from speedway. Sadly my love of the sport saw me start going again, to tracks local to me in the west country and west midlands.

When BMR took over I was delighted at now being able to return to Rye House, Unfortunately ill-health and an inability to work ruled out £50 trips (fuel and admission).

Despite recent hospitalisation I was keen to get to the track this year and was all set to go over in July.

If I am such a poor 'fan' how come I was asked to write a substantial part of the eulogy for Kelvin Mullarkey's funeral, which I would have delivered in person had I not been 400 miles away in Cornwall convalescing from my latest hospitalisation.

You really are scum.

So you haven't been to Rye for donkeys years, but was planning on going sometime soon.Surely if you told the Rye management they might have carried on for a bit in the knowledge that another fan might turn up once this season?:blink:If only they knew the club was such a central part of your life!!!B)

Rob,, please don't rise to the replys,

People who were there in 1999 especially know what you sacrificed for the club you don't need to explain yourself or ask for validation form strangers, you know the truth.

I used to know Mc Caffery many years ago.  He always struck me as a person full of his own importance who always acted

as if he was an expert on all matters Speedway when in fact the reverse was true.  When I knew him he dreamed of being the

promoter at Rye House ( which was an impossibility then) si it does not surprise me that he had his nose put out of joint when
Len Silver took over 2000 and resurrected the club. He talks utter rubbish.

I do not know the chap, but I do know this forum excels at character assassination. Character assassination usually comes from people with an alias, whereas Rob has the balls to use his real name. As Rayleigh says, take no notice Rob, by trying to get at you, it is distracting their minds from the crisis in speedway!

Strange. You tell him not to rise to the posts, but don’t tell him to stop calling people scum or morons, which he generally calls half the forum!!!

As far as I know there are only a couple of people who used to be here who you could rightly call scum.one,a convicted drug dealer, who is now pushing up the daisies and the other was convicted of possessing child pornography.Just because some on here don’t agree with Rob,doesn’t mean we can be called morons and there is absolutely nothing I have posted that makes me scum

Bottom line is,it is a fact he goes to Rye once in a blue moon and unless Rye arrange meetings when a blue moon falls on a weekend then the likelihood is Rob won’t be there

My name is firmly out there - having the balls to use his real name is irrelevant with him.

When he doesn't like what someone says he throws a hissy fit and goes off on some rant trying to prove he's better than someone.  Take a look at the poor Lakeside chaps trying to do a youtube video thread.  He's rude and condescending.

You've never said truer words in your life....

That is probably why many people no longer can be bothered with the Forum. I know, have been in contact with, a number of folk who have packed in due to the unpleasantness on here by certain people.

I, myself, do not Post as much as I used to - I still read it though.

Robs worst mistake is to be on this forum at all, I remember Irs123 berating me about Wimbledon when he is in Hamberg, Hanover Berlin or wherever and is obviously a regular attendee and long term sponsor... sorry no, that's factually incorrect like most of the post on here!

All you cyber warriors have big balls behind a keyboard, but nothing when it comes to real life! for example, -I gave a detailed explanation of what went on at plough lane including telling everyone that my former partner was a crook ... (since proved) and got castigated for it by people who were not even there! including from the moderators who had been threatened with Legal action!

Anyway, that's why life is too short to waste time, and the skin cells on the end of my fingers typing out words of one syllable so you pond life can understand what is being said!

this is an intervention so Rob,... step away from the keyboard, do not go on this forum and find something positive to do  with Life, the universe and everything instead of disappearing down this black hole!!

I had a very interesting meeting yesterday with you- know- who and he/they told me (speedway) things which with make your eyebrows curl! if you promise not to conduct any more conversations with these anally retentive monkeys on here i will phone you tonight and let you in on it.

.....let the bile now flow forth....

Steve.

While I agree with your view, someone who uses terms like 'scum'  and 'nasty idiots' to describe other posters doesn't deserve much sympathy when those others hit back.

There are many Rye House fans, myself included, who have lost our club and are devastated by this. Yet it seems to have turned into a crusade by Rob to make himself out to be the most hard done by. It’s sad. And for the record he isn’t. Those who were on the terraces EVERY week and who went away as often as they could in the name of supporting Rye House are (not counting myself as one of that number, as I wasn’t).

I don’t care about crowds at Belle Vue, or how Coventry are doing at Leicester. They have their own threads. And above all else I don’t care about reading Rob McCaffrey name calling and being a big part of the reason this thread has descended because he can’t enter into a debate without making things personal as opposed to giving a reasoned answer to those who have a different opinion to him.

well said Ben the fact that our club has gone (and how it has happened) is far more important than all the rubbish being spouted on here. Would like to see some discussion as to how the situation can be reversed as all the hard work getting the club back etc seems to have just been thrown away - I don't care about money/politics etc all I know is somehow the real fans of the club seem to have been taken for granted and I guess we could all see problems coming with the way things were going  but didn't ever think that everything would be thrown away in 2 years.   My real disappointment is that I do not see any way back for the club and as for seeing any speedway there this season there is not a hope in hell

All the clubs could have got round the table and with give and take an agreement reached on the moving of fixtures to help the Rockets.

Never an option though as Buster said no. I think one or two other clubs, unbelievably were not arsed about them closing.
