Newcastle V Redcar 3/9/17

Polish play off meeting that was in the diary first BEFORE this rearranged meeting. Unfortunate but not really anyones fault.

This meeting is a rearranged meeting from way back on 7th May. This date has been available all season. Why was it left until 2 weeks ago to set this date. Makes you wonder is this scenario just to stop Newcastle getting into the same position as Ged Rathbone at Peterborough. Looks like they have left it that late so that the European authorities can say the the Polish play off meeting takes priority as it was in the diary first. Thereby stopping George having his Licence suspended like Ged. Even so the BSPA do not allow a facility in this situation only a NL guest. Having said that Josh is not in a NL team so is he technically eligible to ride.

The Polish playoffs have been on the ISL calendar since the 1st issue in February. This match isn't even on the latest one issued on the 17th August.

Do you also write thrillers in your spare time. Way off the truth.

Redcar have been offered several dates, but were unable to accept them. Remember we have both Redcar meetings to rearrange as our other B meeting was planned for the same day as the 4's at Peterborough. There was a suggestion that Scunny would give up their away meeting with us to allow Redcar to replace them, and give them the opportunity for league points given that they were challenging for a playoff place, and the Diamonds and Scunny were not. Nothing came from that suggestion, so the Scunny meeting went ahead as planned.

Given the pressure to get on with the backlog of fixtures, it would not surprise me if George had pressure put on him to put a fixture on, and probably accepted to do that he had no choice but to go without Robert.

Yes agree but you cannot say that this meeting was arranged till you know which teams are in the play offs. Recon George did not offer Redcar this date till it was sure that Lambert was wanted today (which would have been 2 weeks ago). Wonder how much it was worth to Newcastle to ensure Lambert was ok to ride in Poland. Rumor is that Peterborough got a five figure sum for allowing Holder to miss the 4's. Still got the Redcar meeting from 6th Aug to rearrange. Both clubs are free on 17th Sept (the last day for the play off cut off) Redcar will be desperate to have the meeting by then now they are in a play off position. Will we have to wait o see if Lambert has a Polish meeting confirmed on that day before Redcar can be offered that date.

were you twisting your t!ts last year in the cup when we had to come to your place with 3 riders?? Or did you say nowt because Redcar had nothing to ride for?? Have you the info of what dates were offered to Redcar before they accepted tonight?? You should be pleased your team is facing us without Lambert as you would have gotten beat if he was there.

The rider situation here just sums up the mess that British Speedway is in .

Until the double ups are stopped it is a matter of time before the whole lot goes ** up, especially when you read the Chapman article in the Star this week where he wants unlimited guests ,..

We have to go 1 league next season with 2 Race nights. If we don't then the sport is dead. To achieve this we may have to have a rider allocation for the first season , but needs must.

Can't make it tonight , Redcar should get something from it but i will be surprised.

Whatever UTB Hope all riders stay safe
