Aces51
I would say Newman is an adequate replacent. I can't see Newman doing as well at the NSS as Dan but away it could depend where we race. Kyle might do better at at Poole. I'm just hoping that Dan is ok but only being able to complete less than a lap in Poland yesterday is concerning.

mikec
Really concerning, Dan is dynamite round the NSS, not to mention really good round Wolves, where we are likely to be in a couple of weeks. I like & respect Kyle Newman, talented rider, but Bewley is irreplaceable, end of.

However last year it was only Newman (and Ellis) who kept the Pirates afloat in the play-off semi-final.

Ellis was good too, has really kicked on this year. Pirates fans must be envious. Maybe I'm biased, but I'm lucky to watch Bewley in Colts & Aces colours every week. Know he has struggled on the international stage this year, but he is a very special talent. I wouldn't swap him for anyone, he'll star in the playoffs if fit. I think most sensible speedway fans will agree with that. For me, favourites are Swindon, followed by Belle Vue, Wolves and then Poole. If we get drawn against the Aces, then I think it's curtains for us.
Arthur54
What? The pre-season bookies favourites have done well to get in to the play offs? Lol You say that you drew at Belle Vue in the A fixture but were well beaten in the beaten in the B fixture? Isn't that what happened at Swindon too? You sound like a drowning man Steve, only there are no more straws for you to clutch at. I hope your boys are spending the weekend wisely by popping in to Halfords. They don't want to be caught short particularly as there is 25% off this weekend. They want to make sure those bicycles are in tip top condition... With the season we have had,it's a major achievement just getting to the play offs, anything now is just a bonus Well I hope Paul Starke is fully recovered from all his illness/injuries as he goes back to reserve for the play-off semis. Especially as Poole can only replace with a rider from the bottom 4 teams - so Kyle Newman anyone?!! ;-) ;-) ;-) If that were to happen can you imagine this forum?! Ha ha ha! Long as it's not kk I don't care

Steve Shovlar
Since the history of the playoffs, has a team qualified who has lost 5 on the bounce at home, one with a scoreline of 30-60? Not that I can recall. 5 losses at home usually means bottom of the league. But the resilience of this Poole team has suprised everyone, and the reason they go into the playoffs as the complete underdogs, and the team neutrals will be supporting en masse. Poole Pirates. 'The Peoples Team". You can almost hear the roar, "Come on Pirates", from hundreds of thousands of lounges, parlours, sitting rooms and bars right now.

It should have been last year in the final but BV had a nightmare at Monmore, Cook apart. Gave us too much to do at home despite a great fight, Lindgren was brilliant on the night in Manchester & saw you home. I'd want 10 point lead to take to Monmore, anything less & it's advantage Wolverhampton. The Wolves track fazes some teams, it doesn't BV, some great racing in store. That's assuming Wolves pick the home leg 2nd.. they usually don't. Do we know when the choices are made? Beowulf
Thats a very defeatest attitude Realism. We are not that good at the NSS. They have Tungate, a second string, who could score like a No 1. Most of the Aces go well at Monmore, only maybe Tungate who doesn't. We will see anyway if this is the draw. Errrr.....Wolves are current Champions. As you well know teams vary wildly from prior years, last year is gone and now has no relevance. Choices are tomorrow night I think on BT Sport. Think Pete Adams would fancy keeping it tight at BV & hitting the Aces hard early at Monmore.
