IainB
Just a thought... I read that Lakeside want to ride in the top league again next year, could this be allowed to happen? or should they have to win the 3rd division and then the 2nd division and any playoffs to do so? If you're going to have promotion and relegation surely the days of electing which league you want to ride in are over? Speedway really does make it difficult for itself sometimes! Invariably always.
Steve0
Personally I think the Premiership PO winners should be promoted to the Polish League then we can see the worlds top riders in a UK team again! In case you hadn't noticed - we have the world's top rider in the Swindon team
scottyfan
In case you hadn't noticed - we have the world's top rider in the Swindon team Didn't know "Greg Hancock the current World Champion " was riding for Swindon this year??......
Steve0
Didn't know "Greg Hancock the current World Champion " was riding for Swindon this year??...... Only world champion because Doyley got injured but you are correct Hancock is world champion but he isn't riding just now due to injury. The best rider in the world today is the one at the top of the SGP standings and that's Doyley
TesarRacing
In case you hadn't noticed - we have the world's top rider in the Swindon team Indeed. But will he be riding in the UK next year? Only world champion because Doyley got injured but you are correct Hancock is world champion but he isn't riding just now due to injury. The best rider in the world today is the one at the top of the SGP standings and that's Doyley If's and but's Steve0, if's and but's! Maybe Doyley is only top of the SGP standings this year because Hancock is currently injured!!

Maybe Doyley is only top of the SGP standings this year because Hancock is currently injured!! I think Greg Hancock was well behind at the time of his injury.
Skodaman
In case you hadn't noticed - we have the world's top rider in the Swindon team Would this be the same J.Doyle that said he would not ever ride for Rosco again when he was helped to get a visa by David Hemsley and not Rosco not so many years ago!! flagrag
I think that Jason Doyle would still be at Leicester now if Mr Hemsley had listened to him and changed the race night as well as pay him correctly.
Elmo
So if any of the double uppers are injured, can both teams use a guest for the same rider?

Don't know what relevance your comment has but that would be Swindon asset Jason Doyle
Col
This is Leicester v either Sheffield or Ipswich? Busy night for Danny King as Sheffield have been crippled by injuries. What a joke.
RobMcCaffery
If, as rumoured, the intention by the BSPA is to run a 12-team Premiership next year, I suggest they keep very quiet until after BT Sport have televised what could well be a totally irrelevant pair of meetings - apart from them probably being quite entertaining. BT only seem to be publicising one meeting on October 9th with no mention of a second leg. waytogo28
So it is the dream scenario, or have I got it wrong Leicester V Sheffield? Both of whom will be in the Premiership next year as seems very, very likely. Perhaps it is a kind of end of season Inter League Challenge? SteveLyric2
Isn't there a rule that prevents a promoter/owner from running more than one club in the same division/league?!
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Isn't there a rule that prevents a promoter/owner from running more than one club in the same division/league?!different names on paper is all thats needed.... smoke and mirrors in line with the classic speedway approach 😛
KN1
Isn't there a rule that prevents a promoter/owner from running more than one club in the same division/league?!I think you can for 1 or 2 years before deciding, i.e. Mike golding (poole/rebels),Gary patchett (Swindon/brum)As for the meetings we were told it's 9th and 11th. Await confirmation especially as Sheffield meet Ipswich 12th and 13th in the cup semi's. Edited October 2, 2017 by KN1
Big Al
Damien Bates was interviewed by radio Leicester, shortly after buying the club from Buster Chapman. He was asked about the possibility of Leicester and Sheffield being in the same league in 2018, and how that would work. He said "that just won't happen". Happy Hunter
Considering that the play offs are supposed to be on Monday & Wednesday next week the silence from both teams and the BSPA is deafening!
RS50
Sheffield have a reserved date 9th October, Leicester's website says the next match to be confirmed, BSPA still have 9th and 11th on website for these matches (still saying teams TBC, the Leicester bit been known for some time, Sheffield 2 days), why is it so difficult for the authorities to confirm these matches, or at least tell us why, if they are not going ahead.
