Popular Post Hawk127
Doyle's on camera gestures were a little uncalled for but hey the guy has a major advantage over most riders at yesterday's meeting, financial backing which enables him to 'buy' some of the best equipment, back up team etc and probably largely due to his sponsors that he is where he is. Mock all you like Mr Doyle but you were once in a position of chasing every point to earn a living. Why not give something back instead of sneering at those not as fortunate as you from a financial perspective and be a bit more constructive. Or maybe it was a case of sticking by his compatriots and having a roundabout dig at KL and Mr Chapman. We will never know but perhaps it is time that the GP circus riders kept out of league racing altogether. Swindon have not done too bad when Doyle has not been available to ride for them and does British Speedway really need them?
keef robin
Was a Swindon reserve 5 years ago, shows anyone can reach the top with desire, drive and determination. Came out on crutches last night, but still whoops everyone's ass. Different gravy and the Swindon Red Army love him.
bellevueace
A very good crowd pity the racing was so poor as many wouldnt be eager to return after so many processions and stoppages. KL put up a better performance than i was expecting, after getting rid of the prima donnas they at least have a team who go out to give the maximun effort. I wish Pearson would stop his "another brilliant meeting" when its anything but. The decision makers could think to themselves if thats brilliant then we dont need it. Hopefully the standard of the GP racing will secure a continued tv deal.
Big Al
Doyle a fine rider but a bit lacking in intelligence and shows it at times. Maybe having a team manager who habitually spouts verbal diarrhoea doesn't help
Lukas
Doyle was right......THJ is a lunatic and has a reputation to support my opinion! After the injuries Doyle has suffered, I'm not surprised he vented his feelings! Â The match from a neutral view was absolute garbage.....thank heavens that I recorded it so I could fast forward the endless amount or re-runs....how on earth Pearson could say that was a belting meeting is beyond my imagination. Bellego was unfairly excluded in his first heat....crap refereeing once again! Â Great attendance and a cracking looking Blonde shown going through the turnstiles when the recording started highlight of this 'dull' affair! Â Yawn yawn!! Absolute b######!..Doyle is a hypocrite as he has made some ridiculous desperate/dirty moves over the last couple of seasons..his behaviour is a joke on a number of occasions ( last night and at a recent GP to name a couple)..he should grow up and act like a professional instead of being a whining moaning idiot which seems to be a trait of most Aussie Speedway riders lately.Maybe him and his fellow Aussies should book some lessons with Crump and Adams over the winter on how to act as a professional speedway rider. mudflaps
thought Buster came across as a bit of an idiot - try to mock and put down Rosco when he was being interviewed.. As for why Rosco called him Boss - don't get me started!
Aces51
I've just watched this. The racing was poor but the heavy rain overnight wouldn't have helped. King's Lynn were determined and never gave up and I can see why their fans are happy with this team despite the loss of Holder and Batchelor. Swindon are going to be hard to beat in the play offs but tonight showed it's not going to be impossible.  It was good to see a big crowd although 3000 at£5 probably equates to less cash than a normal Swindon crowd and if you always charged £5 for how long would it stay at 3000? woofers
So, will Swindon by brave enough to price their next meeting similarly ?  Only by doing so will it give credible evidence to the price point that speedway can attract decent crowd levels.  Of course, pricing the product at the right point to attract spectators is one thing, serving up something that will keep them coming back for more is another - I fear that the racing last night didn't help that cause, although there will be some on here that are happy with what they saw, namely a win for Swindon and a relatively close score line, but in reality the racing for the most part was processional and strung out.  How many of those extra punters would return at £17 / £18 per head ? Bunce
Lots of stoppages, bike failures and a heavy track after lots of rain rather spoilt the meeting, but hats off to all the riders for giving it 100%. I thought Doyles actions were uncalled for, I seem to remember several lunatic moves by him that ended in tears. At least THJ was giving it all, which I suspect wouldn't have happened from two other ex Lynn riders. I'm not sure why Robert Lambert and Kai Huckenbech had such poor meetings, if they had scored well, this could have been a lot closer. A ORLOV
I hope at the agm one of the major changes will be the reducing of the delays, last night was awful. They have got to stop riders going to the pit gate after an unsatisfactory start or using up all the two mins again. The ref should have a 1 min or 30 second restart time. Somehow they have also got to try to reduce all these restarts.

Zummerrzet, 17 quid includes prog, and with the Rebs back on Monday for the double header with Leicester for 25 quid, they will do well to get 1500 Thursday about half that were there last night. But it gave people the chance to watch the High flying birds live, when many can't afford the extra cash. So well done to the club. Great racing this season never known so many unpredictable results and away wins. Still 7 clubs chasing a playoff place. It would be people who know speedway.  Many people, such as myself, don't go every week but choose which meetings to attend. With this being a £5 meeting, many part-time supporters would have chosen this one.  If it was £5 every week you still wouldn't get the same people going every week. They would, I'm sure, still decide which meetings to go to and which not to.  I'm sure that pretty much everyone who was there last night will go again, just not necessarily on the same night. No the next meeting is on Thursday v. theblueboy
Which was predicted by many apart from whichever idiot set out the schedules. What will be even worse is if monday is rained off. Â That is a scenario, that Swindon do not want to even think about. Â A rain off, which would effectively make 2 home fixtures redundant, would have serious ramifications on the Robins finishing top and leave them with the possibility of having the decision to choose their opponents out of their hands. Â I think that it will be interesting to see which amoeba actually owns up to compiling the Swindon fixture list because it is, without doubt, a shocker of a run in given that effectively have had 159 days in which to run a much reduced fixture list (compared with other seasons where we have have had upwards of 36 matches to include) Â Fixtures should, with some exceptions, be set in stone. I have already had my two pence worth regarding the changes to the revised final dates and this just adds to the general consensus that we are really dealing with several village idiots who just haven't got a clue how to run a professional sport. The annoying thing is that we went weeks without a meeting back in June and July, in June we only had two meetings.
