lucifer sam
SCORPIONS LOOKING TO ‘CLICK’ HENDERSON INSURANCE Scunthorpe Scorpions have a big weekend of SGB Championship action ahead of them, with a visit to bottom club Berwick on Saturday (7pm), followed by a home meeting against Peterborough Panthers at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday (5.30pm). Scunthorpe have already won once at Berwick this season, and are looking to make it four victories in four matches against the Bandits. Meanwhile, Peterborough make third appearance at the Eddie Wright Raceway in 2017. The Panthers won 46-44 in April, before the Knockout Cup clash between the two sides was washed out in early June, with Scorpions leading 19-11 at the time of the abandonment. Scorpions are set to use rider replacement in both meetings for the injured Jake Allen. Skipper Michael Palm Toft says: “We’re capable of winning both meetings, both at Berwick, and at home to Peterborough. “It’s just a case of us all clicking at the same time. When we do that, there’s no reason why we can’t win against anyone.” On Sunday, Chris Harris will be on World Longtrack duty and Peterborough bring in Scunthorpe asset Thomas Jorgensen as a guest. Jack Holder is also unavailable, with his replacement yet to be determined. Promoter Rob Godfrey says: “I’m looking forward to seeing Thomas Jorgensen back at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday, even if it’s as a guest for the away team. He’ll always be welcome here. “I’m sure he’ll be involved in some great battles against our riders.” There are 21 heats of action in total on Sunday, including a six-heat second half challenge match between Scunthorpe Stags and Wolverhampton X Factor. Admission prices for Sunday: Adult: £15.00 Student/OAP: £13.00 Child (10 – 17): £5.00 Child (0 – 9) Free (accompanied by paying adult) Family Ticket £35 (2 adults, 2 Children 10-17) Match Programme: £1.00 Expected teams for Sunday: Henderson Insurance Scunthorpe Scorpions: 1. Michael Palm Toft (captain), 2. Rider replacement for Jake Allen, 3. Lewis Kerr, 4. Ryan Douglas, 5. Josh Auty, 6. Tero Aarnio, 7. Josh Bailey. Peterborough Panthers: 1. Thomas Jorgensen (guest), 2. Guest for Jack Holder (TBC), 3. Paul Starke, 4. Bradley Wilson-Dean, 5. Ulrich Ostergaard, 6. Simon Lambert, 7. Tom Bacon. Junior challenge teams: Scunthorpe Stags: 1. Luke Whitehead, 2. Sam Chapman, 3. Chris Bambury, 4. Sheldon Davies. Wolverhampton X Factor: 1. Sam Wright, 2. Connor Fletcher, 3. James Chattin, 4. Stephen Whitehouse. RS50
Thought teams were supposed to be declared in advance. If so why have Peterborough not declared who is replacement for Holder. Known in advance he has no intention of competing in this match.

Exactly what I thought in that teams to be declared & noted to your away opponents 5 days from meeting then logged to BSPA for relevant checks. As stated from Peterboro's website about Holders proposed missed meetings away at Newcastle(last week) & at Scunthorpe tomorrow. If Torun using their squad & Holder now not required, he should have been declared for this meeting. Rathbone dictating his own terms, again.
crazysue
Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the Updates site? If so, could you please send me a private message which includes your mobile number. Thanks

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
So someone tell me why this ain't the 2nd leg of the KOC QF.Very good point. Neither team has any hope of a play off place and it would make perfect sense to progress thst half of the cup competition.
Panthers89
Because if it was Holder would be riding..... Sad but true. So nearly half 7 the morning of the meeting and sweet f all in regards to what our team is.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Perhaps with Busters liking for last minute decisions he will make a decree at 3pm that it is to be the KOCup tie after all leaving another Holder with no way back 😜😜

Panthers89
Connor Coles guests for Holder. So we've easily lost 15 points from the team so if Scunny can't beat us, really shows how poor they are tbh

Arch Stanton
Rathbone is severely taking this p!ss here out of the Peterborough supporters, and speedway supporters in general.

So we've easily lost 15 points from the team so if Scunny can't beat us, really shows how poor they are tbh Can't see where you have lost 15 points as Jorgensen will probably score more than what Harris would, Ostergaard flies round Scunny and Starke and Dean also go well so even without Holder this is no foregone conclusion and also at Scunny anything happens. Harris and Holder - 27 Jorgenson and Coles - 12 Harris is flying from the starts ATM which is very unusual

LagutaRacingFan
If Scunthorpe fans can't be bothered to provide updates, why should the Panthers bring their best rider?
