A 3 pointer NL guest would make stronger than having Sedge ride at the moment . He is a total joke right now . The sooner he gets back on the plane to Oz the better !

I absolutely love my trips to worky and this one will be no different. The closeness of the track to the stand and the noise of the bikes as the rip past the stand into bend 1, awsome, add to that the sometimes hostile home support, always makes for a cracker. Good racers track, oh and the chips cheese and gravy.

not all the worky fans are hostile

try standing on the back straight or the bends youll find they can be friendly

but nice someone does notice workington is a good track to watch speedway

Agree about the view from most parts of the stadium as for the chips and hostile fans....probably the chips are more hostile , the fans having a few too many beers or just silly boys.

Correct not all worky fans are like that, but Im glad that some are, it makes me sit right in with them even more and makes me shout for my team even louder. I've never been round the back straight.

I don't mean hostile in violent way, it's just the atmosphere they produce, which again I love. Maybe it just seems that way cos most fans at foxhall are nearly dead and like to do their knitting whilst the racing is on.

Is there any Ipswich fans out there that could do us a favour??? Take James sarjent back to Ipswich with you an never let him return anywhere near Cumbria

Ā

The daft thing is I could easily see him back at Ipswich next year. He will be one of those riders that will be classed as having a bargain average.

Sarj may still be pretty young but until he learns to gate when the tapes go up and not before he's going to have a lot of 15mtr handicaps to battle against.

Ā

But his starting issues are very well known, he's definitely talented and with the right equipment he could certainly get himself out of the reserve spots in any team.

Ā

Anyway back to the thread, I think the Witches could potentially get something from this meeting if all goes well, with Sedgmen being missing (given his recent scoring record) it could possibly strengthen our challenge.

Ā

I would say to Baldy, you can fill us all in on your return but that doesn't seem likely any time soon.

We will need to trap a bit better to stand a chance.

The Worky boys looked sharper on Thursday and if that happens again I think they will have too much pace for us to get even a point.

Wow what can I say, I've just had a private message from Dan Moody, Commercial Manager of Workington Speedway, offering me the opportunity of watch a race or 2 from the centre green tomorrow evening. What a fantastic and kind gesture that is. Wouldn't it be great if more clubs did something like that. Thank you very much Dan.
