Hasbeen
Picked up a leg injury on Sunday. He's out for at least two weeks apparently, so will miss this weekend and possibly the double header on the 22nd. He came second in an individual meeting in Poland today and scored 15 points from 6 rides .https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/relacja/80870/friendship-speedway-trophy

Alan_Jones
Time sick notes attracted an automatic 7 day absence regardless of the reason. All in the interests of riders wellbeing of course. Riders with a non-speedway injury/illness can't return within 7 days unless given permission by the MC. The Third Man
Must be a ban coming up then? Yep it will just like the one for Holder Is he riding today despite the ban? Jake Knight must have really upset someone Edited October 14, 2017 by The Third Man
Blackadder
Unlike the Championship Fours, there is nothing in the Supplementary Regulations for the Championship League or National League Riders Championships that specifies which riders are to attend. (For some reason unknown to me, Jake Knight copped for a ban though).

Blackadder
Apologies, you are correct. I must have missed it when I had a quick check. At least, there is consistency across the leagues!

mauger65
well this just about sums up where speedway is and why even loyal diehard fans like myself are getting totally fed up 1 summers should not be riding ... the precedent was set when Larsen won and Newcastle had 3 top 10 riders ...but only 2 were allowed 'as the authorities stated extra riders were to be shared out amongst the other teams. so even though it is weakening the field other teams should be providing 2 ......... mighty convienant summers rides for Glasgow ................. 2 lambert missing ......... bloody joke as hes riding in Poland .......... with his injured leg ........... 3 cook pulling out late ......... feel sorry for comets fans ........ 4 Sheffield .......... graversen seriously ? ........... wheres bjerre 5 redcar - no riders ....... are you kidding me .......... why wasn't one of the fit ones ordered to ride ... with full replacement cover given to replace him 6 I'm sure howe or doolan would have ridden at the drop of a hat I was up inn Glasgow for the 1st running and mightily relieved I haven't bothered to go tonight this is supposed to be a professional sport ............ and it is the most amateurish of all professional teams sport in the UK ........... the promoters seriously need to get their act together in this winter and sort out a sensible league structure and a bloody simple set of common sense of rules regarding riders missing meetings with replacements allowed for legitimate reasons and bans/fines for riders (and promoters who get paid for allowing it!!!!!) who decide not to honour their commitments

Midland Red
Another travesty and miscarriage of justice When you have an infallible system where every rider meets each of the others once, why on earth is the rider who amasses the highest number of points no longer the winner of these individual events Tonight Worrall was THREE points clear of the rest of the field, yet Morris and Harris finish first and second It's fine to say the riders know the rules and regulations before racing But it is an injustice to fair play I'm a Bomber fan but I would have said exactly the same had he won heat 22 The champion tonight should be Worrall

RobMcCaffery
I remember the old NLRC as a highlight of the season held in front of packed crowds at Wimbledon, later Coventry with a wonderful atmosphere and the league's best riders fighting their hearts out for the title and for their team's supporters. Today it was a struggle to get even one entry from certain tracks. Shame on them and their riders. Today two of the biggest stars in the league were absent. One was too busy riding in a minor event (but no doubt more lucrative) in Poland. Shame on him. If the other absentee suddenly overcomes his illness to ride tomorrow then shame on him. When will these people ever think of the paying public? They deserve no support from them. Supporters don't kill these competitions. Riders do. Shame on them all. They have a duty to their supporters to take this event seriously. There is one night a year when it's about more than money. This for the Championship was it. This should be the league's party. Shame on those riders who couldn't be bothered to go. Edited October 14, 2017 by Rob McCaffery
