Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House

Recommended Posts

If King's Lynn eventually do confirm that Thursday will be a double header v Poole & Rye House, one would hope that following the rather 'difficult' double header v Wolverhampton they would at least bring the start time forward to say 6.30pm, maybe even 6pm. I know it wouldn't be a convenient start time

for everyone, but surely it would be better than having the 2nd match dragging on towards midnight...

Poole and Kings Lynn web sites and BSPA web site say that Poole are racing at Kings Lynn on 31st. Only the Rye House web site says they are at Kings Lynn that day! Going to be interesting to see what happens!

If it is a double header I can see both aways sides wanting to be in the second match given how KL folded up in the last double header they staged! The fact that the 4th place in the league could depend on the results that night makes for uncomfortable thoughts of who is fixing what for whom!

Wonders never cease, why can this not be cleared up by either club? Maybe no one can be bothered anymore, very sad affair.

Bit like the time it cost me a small fortune for a hotel near Newport. That could have been cleared up too but wasn't.

Given the made up call off of the Rye fixture, maybe Lynn are ceding the 4 points to Rye . None of this effing about is any good for the fans who want to book time off work and/or make travel plans. Ridiculous.

1 Maybe after all the comments about double headers Buster has had second thoughts about another one, if indeed it was ever AGREED in the first place.

2 Perhaps they have listened to the complaints from fans about riders doubling up/guesting and affecting their own teams chances of progress has made then think of the scenario of a rider being injured in the first match and having to be replaced by a Poole rider, the team that Rye are vying for over a play off place. They may have listened to the fans

3 Possibly Lynn offered Rye three dates, but on all of those dates Rye couldn't field a full team so they unilaterally decided to announce the date hoping to put pressure on Lynn

4 Maybe it is all agreed but by some kind of oversight Lynn simply haven't informed the fans, and will do so at 7 o'clock on Thursday.

It could be any or none of the above but the likelihood is :-

1 Possibly

2 Never in a month of Sundays

3 Possibly but in that case they don't know Buster very well

4 Probably :P

Speedway has never thought of fans when they want to book time off/make travel plans to see a match.

Maybe they are waiting for the results from Monday and Tuesday as they may make the Thursday fixture pointless?!

It is looking like these two Kings Lynn matches against Poole and then Rye House are absolutely pivotal in the 4th place fight and three days before the meeting as advertised on the Rye House site, it is still not confirmed either on the BSPA site or Kings Lynn website.....shambles in the way of communication!

Given that i like many others will make the trek up to Belle Vue on wednesday i now have no idea whether the hotel i booked for wednesday night is needed or not. Having been made aware at Rye that KL away was the night after BV its not confirmed nor is there an alternative date, given that the KL owner also masterminds British Speedway is there any wonder that speedway has disappeared down the toilet faster this year. Hopefully he'll be in the pits at Rye on tuesday to answer any questions from the paying public

Lets not forget how Rye House went out of their way (At the inconvenience to their own fans) to help Lynn for the original staging of tuesdays meeting as they were unable to raise a team . A suggestion that Rye are the problem without knowing that is the case is a little harsh on Rye House especially when the original date for the meeting at Lynn was off was due to a predicted "High wind". Joke club, Joke owner, total farce that may see Rye House lose out on the playoffs.

Was there an official reason as to why the second Kings Lynn v Wolves meeting was abandoned at 10 heats. If there is no curfew then why was it stopped, and if there is a curfew then will Rye House only have 10 heats if it's going ahead on Thursday. Also if it is not raced before cut-off date and becomes a dead meeting, Rye House should refuse to go back there.

There was no official announcement why it was abandoned after 10 heats, but it was agreed before the 2nd meeting started that they would call it after 10.

"Another double header"? - I genuinely believe that it will not be because they have listened to the fans. They never have, they never do and only when there are no fans left to listen to will they be mightily surprised by the silence. It is this BSPA trait over the last 20 years or so that has led to the state in which speedway finds itself now.

Much more likely!

Did they bother to inform the supporters of this before they started the 2nd meeting?

Just been confirmed by Peter Schroeck over the PA that there are discussions going on about this KL v Rye match and we should hopefully find out tomorrow...nothing like a bit of notice is there....what a farce🤔
