spanner47
It does appear that not only are P'boro blighted with a crap team, they've also got the only 2nd Division troll. We used to have one on tbe Ipswich threads, not too sure what eventually got rid off him. I know loads of us complained to the mods, but that appeared to fall on deaf ears for Months, but this creep was a vile little person, where as your troll is just a sad pest who obviously hasn't got a life. Terrace Grumbler
Chris Harris' pass in heat 15 - breathtaking Alfie Bowtell's outside move on Andersen - heartwarming The rest - dreck, the worst examples being Robson and Lindgren cruising around in heat 9 and Lindgren pulling up in heat 14 to allow Hopwood to win...this was 13 heats of speedway riding. Ban Holder for taking the mickey, ban Rutherford for being hopelessly substandard but please do something to make this sport worth watching again. happyvalleywoolerman
It is sad that this great sport is dragged down further by those who have scant regard for the paying public. I really hope that those in charge are proud of the performance. No blame can be directed at riders, they do what is asked of them but the promoters and BSPA are taking the patience of the fans to new limits. These so called guardians are killing our sport and perhaps it is time to show the utter disdain most have for those who continue to take the proverbial. No wonder those clicking through the turnstiles is going down. What will happen? Nothing. A wake up call is looming and when T V pulls the plug those from the BSPA will start to see the gravy train come off the rails. Only a few promoters deserve the support the rest will hopefully get their comeuppance. Please tell us who you think they are? Genuine question. How was Ludvig pulling up a 'dreck' (whatever that means) moment, I thought it was really nice to give Ben a bit of confidence, 6 points is a good haul for him Also, WHY BAN SHELBY? He's done nothing wrong? Ban him for not being good enough, for being out of his depth, ban him because the rules made Peterborough have to chose a rider of his level? This comment makes no sense to me... Edited August 14, 2017 by Dandelion

This comment makes no sense to me... You're easily pleased, aren't you? This is supposed to be a competitive sport. Heat 14 summed up a lot of what was wrong with the meeting yesterday Shelby Rutherford should not be riding at championship level because, frankly, he is not up to it (do you seriously think that people should be asked to pay money to watch riders of his level of achievement?) and the fact that Lindgren had time to slow almost to a stop to allow Hopwood to win shows what a farce that heat, and most of the meeting, was. It was like something you would expect to see in a testimonial meeting. If you think different, then fine, but this really is a case of the emperor's new clothes. In my eyes, yesterday was a shabby excuse for a speedway meeting. Much, if not all, of the plane may be laid at the door of the Peterborough promotion, but it is symptomatic of the way this season has gone. If you think that I am wrong, perrhaps you would explain to me the reasons why.

It's a massive statement to make and it seems you are just saying it because he's 'not very good', well what do you expect he's a national league reserve riding as a Championship heatleader it's not his fault is it, what a brilliant way to treat riders who 'arn't good enough' just ban them, it's not Shelby's fault that he was having to race in Peterborough's top 5 it is Ged Rathbone's, Peterborough's, Jack Holder's and Torun's.

He's right though, its is meant to be a competitive professional sport... people are paying good money to watch wobblers against former GP riders. It has to change. Its not Rutherfords fault agreed, but also sure isnt the paying publics fault either. Year after year it turns into a shambles and unless they address the glaring issues in this country then the sport will be lost. Only thing that keeps it going are the older generation of diehards( even some of them have walked away), they wont be around forever and its very worrying.
KEITH M
Lindgren pulling up in heat 14 to allow Hopwood to win...So if Hopwood had been going for his first ever max in Championship and ludde was on 7+1 your saying it's wrong to let a team mate through if they are out in front .......... It's a TEAM sport and shows that there is a team spirit amongst our riders ..... It's not as though Ludde was paid less for doing what he done or it changed the result
False dawn
I love the report on this match on the speedwaygb site and their explanation of the members of the Perterborough team..... "....with Jack Holder also absent." Is that what's called diplomatic?
Mattfordfan
Ged ia an awful promoter. Doesnt care about the Panthers fans at all. Clearly short changing them knowing that its NL guests in the top 5 when Ged gets a pay off from Torun.

ruffdiamond
..... It's not as though Ludde was paid less for doing what he done or it changed the result some might see it as 'average manipulation',,, ever so slightly tho but, agree it shows team spirit. Its a shame the ref hadn't put the lights on so quick in ht 12, as Robbo might have done the same for Alfie.

It's also 'short changing' the Newcastle fans last night and, apparently, the Scunthorpe fans next week, too.

They did not short change Berwick on Saturday night, some of the best racing all season.
