hammer1969
I am wondering that as well as Scott commentates for BT at the GP's and Rye haven't had any meetings on a Saturday when there is a GP meeting but I reckon he will ride as I don't think the Promoters will be happy if he chose commentating over riding as captain for his club. flagrag
Leicester are due to welcome back Kyle Newman who has declared himself fit and will have a guest for Kim Nillson who is reserve at the GP in Sweden. The big question mark will be whether Pawel is available to ride he is keen to ride as long as no flare up from injury but it all depends on Torun giving him the required start permissions and whether they would prefer to have him practice in Poland. They did originally agree to this date but obviously things have changed a bit since then with him picking up the injury and their league position in doubt. Just have to see how they wish to deal with this.

flagrag
Yes Steve looks like you are correct with Riss,Wells and Barker riding for their Championship club. It will also be interesting to see if KK appears for Rye House as well with Gorzow having an important fixture on Sunday

Skodaman
Yet another farce for the Leicester public to enjoy! Even though the score was not in doubt early in the meeting I enjoyed the meeting. There was plenty of entertainment and close racing - especially from Bewley. I was very disappointed with Garrity - has he reached a double point total in all matches at Leicester this year?
JamesM09
Will be making the second trip to Leicester this season, hopefully the Rockets can get a point or 4. Edited August 9, 2017 by JamesM
flagrag
Update on Leicester website with Schlein in for Kim,Heeps for Erik, guest to be confirmed for Lasse and RR for Pawel. Just awaiting update on the Rockets team and guests Being used. Interestingly Pawel is riding for Torun on Sunday but has doctors note for Saturday so will he be fit for Somerset on Monday or will he aggravate his injury again like last week. Robbobee
From the Leicester Web Site .... Club bosses have secured the services of Australian duo Rory Schlein and Cameron Heeps to step in for Nilsson and Erik Riss, who is in SGB Championship action for Edinburgh, against Rye House on Saturday. They are still working to secure a guest for Bjerre, whilst Kyle Newman will be fit to return from his foot injury. And co-promoter Marc Bates is targeting their home clash with Belle Vue on Saturday, August 19 to finally get back to full strength.Said Bates: “It’s a case of one step forwards, two steps back in many ways. We’ll be getting Kim and Kyle back soon, but then Lasse is ruled out and Pawel has had a setback.“Hopefully by the Belle Vue meeting we’ll have our full team back, and we’re looking forward to it.” Would be good if we can get Thomas Jorgensen as a guest for Lasse Bjerre who will be sorely missed around BP as will Erik Riss! Comments about a full team for Sat 18th - isn't Ippo riding that night so no King or Newman ?? Cheers
flagrag
I think what Marc was suggesting was that the Belle Vue meeting may be when all the injured riders will be back and Yes Saturday 19th looks like Leicester will be missing King and Newman so maybe 26th against Somerset we will get a full Lions team

Both in the GP challenge if Fricke is fit enough.
Teromaafan
Whilst I do admire the enthusiasm of other posters, I find it a little sad with regard to their 'excitement' for the next meeting when Lions can field a 'full strength' team. At this stage of the season, the league table doesn't lie ( same for any sport really) and the bottom line is that we are/have not been good enough to be any higher than we are in the league, regardless of who has represented us ( guests or official 1 to 7 riders). Being realistic and not wanting to be negative, we are now too far adrift to avoid the wooden spoon. We have been unlucky with injuries, but he sport is unlucky with injuries. The most frustrating thing for me is the amount of match points squandered home and away where we have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. This frustrates but does not surprise me when the team manager tells his team to just enjoy the away fixtures. Since his job is to motivate and encourage, Jolly Jim clearly doesn't give a toss and should be told to enjoy 'gardening leave' as it is referred to with proper jobs. paulboy
I'm making a day of it in Leicester and watching the T20 cricket in the afternoon before the speedway. Can anybody tell me if there is an easy bus route from Grace Road to Beaumont Park or is a taxi the best bet? I'll be leaving my car at the hotel so I can enjoy a beverage in the sunshine
Gemini
Looks quite complicated using buses so I think your best bet would be a taxi. See what you think after adding the details. http://www.choosehowyoumove.co.uk/jp/ Edited August 10, 2017 by Gemini
