Rebels V Wolves.

Recommended Posts

Kings Lynn have no chance of the playoffs having severely weakened their team - Somerset or Rye House with the Rebels currently looking like overtaking the sinking pirate ship

On tonight's performance I'd say Kings Lynn are probably stronger than Poole...in fact I'd say they were probably the weakest team in the League right now on performance levels. ;-)

Its not bad. A 4-2 was needed to guarantee the win.

With Wolves having dropped a point in heat 12 a 3 all in heat 14 would have made the scores 44-39 - meaning the win was secured providing a Somerset rider finished heat 15.

I think most team managers would have been saying make sure of the 3 all.

Having spoken to his team manager that's what they were told.

WhT is the penalty for fielding an ineligible rider in hear15? Just deduction of points scored by ineligible rider (0)?

Surely that's what the referee is for? If a manager picks his two riders and one is not eligible, the referee should pick up on this.

In the heat of battle mistakes can be made...a referee should know the rules, like in every other sport.

If a mistake is made, and it's not seen by the ref. then it's his fault...like missing seeing an obvious penalty or handball in football.

If you look at the official ref`s scorechart here http://www.speedwaygb.co/17results/somerset_09.08.17_res.pdf the column marked ST in red with red figures are the scores after heat 14 which determines rider`s eligibility for heat 15- maybe Gambo can explain how the spreadsheet works on this point.

Even odder the previous Friday Somerset management rang the referee to check that Heeps was eligible before nominating him in heat 15.

Nothing more to add really. Sub Total of Programmed Rides only + Bonus Points.

Anyone from Top 3 on CMA or top 3 (I think) on meeting scores is eligible for Heat 15.

Thanks Dave, does it appear automatically after heat 14 scores have been inputted ?

I believe it's only programmed rides that count too? Either way everyone was eligible except Wright and Allen. Seems a mistake by the team manager and even more so by the referee to miss it.

Thankfully he failed to score so hasn't made too many odds anyway.
