Have Your Say On How British Speedway Is Run

A simple answer foamface - report any suspected multiple IDs to the Moderator.

One guy actually told me to do that, before issuing all kinds of threats and abuse. So I imagine reporting it would make little difference if he still has yet more cards up his sleeve.

Unfortunately there are too many people who think they are doing speedway a service with their constant criticism of the sport which isn't a bad thing but they offer no ideas or alternatives just shoot down every idea put forward , if I put forward a suggestion I don't mind people to say I'm wrong and explain why then offer an alternative but in the main they just say your wrong or your an idiot or whatever and that's it , I can think of a few , I've got pretty thick skin but I get why people get fed up with BSF when the same posters just turn every post into a personal spat between themselves ,so imagine if those personalitys were to be the people to work with the bspa

actually I have found you talk complete sense and should be a reference point for any such group

the big big question is will the sport live within its means at the risk of diluting the strength of the leagues or will it insist on the big names which it can no longer afford in the hope that things will improve.

Without a resolution to that there is no way forward

I don't think that 'diluting' the strength of the leagues would be a big risk, there have been teams in lower leagues that were as well supported as those at the top. The two leagues are so near to each other now that it almost seems like preparation for one big league. That would certainly mean some diluting but I don't see why it couldn't be done successfully. Apart from the cost, the problem with the big names is availability and I think some clubs being forced to run on one particular night would be a bigger risk to their future than dropping a superstar.

for the record - my view is 'that's the money on offer - if you don't like it - see you" - find cheap engines, tyres, whatever I don't know anything about mechanics and if the whole sport is at NL or Div2 level thats fine.

It will recover - new stars and names will appear given the chance. Yes we won't be big on the world stage for a while - just another price to pay for survival.

one big league - you ride for one team only. Try to exist without a sign written van

I think there is a lot of merit in this.

Perhaps if we start at the bottom, we may unearth a future Peter Collins, Michael Lee or a Mark Loram in time.

It's all going to hell in a handcart at present.

I've just been tagged in this post on Facebook

and so long as the guy that i know, and you know of is involved with this which he is, then it has no chance.

That looks a worrying comment greyhoundp. Thank you for the alert. :approve:

I was quite interested when I was reading it on facebook until I scrolled back up to see who made the post, that will be a no.

In the initial comment to this thread which carried the Facebook announcement in regard to the proposed group, there is an email address to contact for more information. I tried to send a message to the email address given and received this response: The address "risinsun123@gmail com" in the "To" field was not recognized.

For my part, I have also been unable to find the original Facebook mention of the formation of the proposed group but it is obviously somewhere on FB.

The email/gmail address is as quoted in the OP message.

If anyone wants to join and cannot make a meeting I presume a Guest will be allowed or will there be a DR Facility in operation?

(Delegate Replacement)?😆

Actually - I believe you get 'Double Points' for just turning up.:mad::mad:

Interesting concept. A "Trade Union" of Speedway Fans. The talk of "paying customers" implies the will to flex financial muscles. Imagine the idea of speedway fans walking out on strike if they don't like a rule change or something. I wonder if "Jeremy Corbyn Fan" will be elected leader / shop steward?

Any idea if any promoters have warmed to the idea and are prepared to champion the cause "from within"?

Logistically there may be issues to overcome...

I presume there would be three groups.

One for the Premiership, One for the Championship and one for the NL...

The NL would, I imagine, hold their meetings months after and separate from the other two and plan to 'save Speedway' in a totally different way..

The Premiership and Championship fans could comfortably hold theirs together though as many will I am sure be able to 'double up' and attend both Leagues' meetings..

I would suggest a 'select few' though are set apart from the other delegates to make those important decisions 'in the interests of saving Speedway' when no decisions can be reached!!😮

I doubt if promoters will be interested in any way in regard to the proposed new group.
