Have Your Say On How British Speedway Is Run

Recommended Posts

I doubt if promoters will be interested in any way in regard to the proposed new group.

Hmmm. So how can supporters do the "getting involved with" and "working with the BSPA & SCB" if there aren't any promoters willing to show an interest? I was hoping that this had stemmed out of a meeting with a progressive promoter who could have been at least an ambassador for the fans. Without that sort of help this initiative could turn into nothing better than BSF or one of any number of Facebook groups, and probably populated by the same people too.

To succeed imho this group needs a compelling USP that the promoters can't afford to ignore. Good luck in coming up with one.

with Brexit approaching it will be vv difficult to justify the number of non UK riders anyway so lets cut it all back to the wood and use either UK or UK committed riders despite the dilution of the league strengths. Prune it - it will grow back stronger

Speedway is a wonderful sport but unfortunately it is run and supported by individuals who relate back to an era when the sport was popular, well supported and profitable. Realisticly it can't be sustained in it's present form. A lot of problems are beyond the sports control but radical ideas and thinking should be on the agenda. Getting the 'big stick' out will only hasten the demise.

All that will happen is that we will end up with another dictatorship. I made an attempt to get a consensus of opinion on a relatively simple matter with a vote on this forum on publicising attendance figures, with very little interest, any new initiative would have the same lack of interest and be left to a few dictators as we have now.

I won't even engage with them it would be a waste of time. To be fair they are hard working and have speedway's best interests at heart but unfortunately tracks, paying public and european speedway have changed. I prefer to put take racing in a direction that is totally different to the present set us as frankly it's definintely not working !! Watch this space....

They are called team owners.

I agree with the synopsis that we have an autocratic system that runs speedway but what usually happens to autocarats and they usually leave a complete mess behind them? The more you engage with the system the longer it will survive.
