mike1944
I think you will find that Freesport will be broadcasting on COM8 which is an HD mux even though Freesport is at the present time only broadcast in SD. Around May Freesports is scheduled to broadcast in HD. At the present time Freesport will only be available if your TV is capable of receiving an HD broadcast. If viewing via Sky it is ch 424. Hamish McRaker
When is the football World Cup?

June 14 to July 15.   But BT Sport don't have UK rights to any of it, so they should be anxious to put alternative sports on during this period. Premiership meetings from June onwards would make sense.    I expect, like last year there'll be ten domestic fixtures (every track once at home, once away) leading up to play-offs.    In Australia, with soccer rights sold by FIFA to SBS and Optus, there's hope the UK meetings will be shown on Foxtel or one of the channels not showing football.

Trees
It was so obvious that Championship clubs and fans made a huge effort for the TV, I think Premiership clubs need to do something similar...

crescent girl
Paulco is correct in saying novelty value helped, but Berwick had Sky there four times in the last four years of their contract (before BT came in) and there was a bumper attendance every time.    It didn't drop off.  But the Bandits promotion did issue special posters (in addition to their regular poster campaigns) and laid on face-painting, etc. When did one of the Elite League clubs make any kind of effort for a televised meeting?  And they were the ones, not the PL clubs, getting their pockets lined with Sky money! Well the other PL matches won't matter will they. The semi final might be a concern although the riders involved might be in the other one.
