Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17

Recommended Posts

Im still here. we are due a poor period 24 trophies in 17 years, count them clown. :D How many have Ippo won in the last 17 years ? :o

Blimey, how old are you? That's the sort of response a ten year old would come up with.

At times like this is best to take it on the chin, keep a low profile, accept your team is rubbish and you were beaten by the better side.

True enough. Accepted we were not going to get close this year weeks ago when KK clearly couldn't give a damn, then Klindt got injured followed by Brady.

Our current lineup is very poor. Lahti doesn't have what it takes and is no replacement for Klindt at his best. Whilst KK should have been one of the biggest hitters in the league he couldn't be arsed until he was sacked. He bred apathy in the pits. Then when sacked thought he was hard done by and last night wanted to prove a point. Not once this season has he shown any effort before last night and his sorry arse should have been kicked out weeks ago but for the lack of top liners wanting to ride in the UK. End of the day Eddie Kennett is trying hard but to be number one is big boots. Couldn't fault his effort last night especially heat 14.

As you say just suck it up and be there next week for the Wolves meeting. We have been blessed with some brilliant teams at Poole over the last 15 years and sometimes things go wrong. Not the end of the world and I am sure Matt Ford is already planning a team to challenge in 2018. New team sponsor already in place.

Well that lot have been knocking us left, right and centre for the last few days.

Middlo is this or Middlo is that.

Darcy is this or Darcy is that.

Poole are this or Poole are that.

Coventry fans will always do that when Poole are struggling and it comes down to the winter of 2010.

Aah I'm touched at the concern from several posters about my wellbeing (or maybe after the past few weeks simply 'touched'!!?) - I was delayed last night at the stadium, busy autographing the photo in the matchday programme of me and Richie Worrall from the meeting I DID sponsor.:P:P:wink:

Only just had the chance to check out the forums this pm as I have lots of other responsibilities on Fridays.

No point me attempting to summarise a meeting that has already been well and truly summed up by others who were there - other than to say what an awful night it was and the team need some serious gating practice. I was actually sat behind Brady's Mum and Dad who were the quietest I've ever witnessed - at least they hade Todd's performance at Sheffield to keep them interested!!

As is the case when there is little to cheer about the home team or the racing there was considerable chat amongst fans and some sponsors, with some interesting 'rumours'!!

For example, 1. will Poole have a different team manager next season? 2. Anyone seeking to move to the Broadstone/Poole area may well find the choice of properties has increased recently. 3. Did we hear from the office 'Yes I know its my fault - there are 4 riders who shouldn't be in the team'!? 4. Was the first rider in the 2018 1-7 signed this week (a rider not riding in UK this year)??!

I'll leave you all to ponder on those.....

Oh and btw well done Rye House, well deserved trouncing - I loved the way the whole team walked around the track at the end to applaud the fans. I shall enjoy watching the Somerset, Rye House and Kings Lynn (?) battle for the 4th spot whilst Poole now concentrate on retaining some sort of decent crowd for the rest of this season and continue with their 2018 70th year arrangements.:wink:

No4 is definitely being talked about on twitter last night.

I wouldn't worry about a promotion/relegation play off with Glasgow. They'll not want to move up and lose lucrative "local" derbies with Edinburgh. Now Sheffield, that's another matter

No point moving up when you're watching most of the same riders in both leagues anyway .

Here's the top 5 songs currently playing on Blueboy FM

5. Tragedy - Steps

4. Everybody Hurts - R.E.M.

3. Everyone's a winner (except Poole, obviously) Hot Chocolate

2. Substitute (picked by our Polish listener, Krzysztof in Gorzow) - Clout

and top of the charts currently is....

1. Seven Seas of Rhye - Queen

Not 'arf pop pickers....

Edited because I couldn't remember who sang 'Subsitute'

The fab four from west London The Who, you obviously weren't around in the swinging sixties, totally poptastic pop pickers.

I would have thought that it's a bit early to start planning for 2018.

We don't know for sure what new rules are going to be demanded by Poland.

We don't know what stupid new rules are going to be introduced by the BSPA.

We don't know if fixed nights are going to be introduced and how this may impact on some tracks.

We don't know how many teams in each league until the November conference. Why is this always so late?

I expect some teams to be finalising their lineups in March, as per usual.

In the meantime have a good Christmas everyone.

Can someone who has possible inside info at least give us the initials of this new rider for 2018 who may be on his way to the Pirates.

I cant find anything on Twitter although I'm no expert on trawling on it.

I stick by the comments of an earlier post that I see BK and JH dropping their averages for the last of this years meetings to accommodate for next year plus Chris Holder on that still low looking 7.16. Get both Holders for maybe 13 points or 13.5 in my book is a bargain whatever the CH haters may think.

I still think Brady K av will drop below the current 8.41 (after Rye House match).

Matt Ford has kept his Council to himself flwg the RH match but he knows full well that even if they get the to the play offs they would get hammered in the semi's. Personally I would rather not qualify than have an embarrassing hammering.

I would rather we have the future riders not kill themselves on their averages if they know they are guaranteed places for next year plus have the likes of Chris Holder and the whispered new number one (whoever he is) to come into an exciting looking team.

I think a positive Chris Holder is worth a lot to Poole and helping the development of Jack and Brady going forward.

So please someone play ball and gives us some idea who this new rider may be

Clue for new rider are:

1. New to Poole

2. Not new to the league

3. Has Poole connections

4. Not British

It's this attitude that cheating is acceptable that has done much to destroy the credibility of the sport. Now it is even more important than ever that everyone involved in running speedway realises they must take action that is in the best interests of the sport as a whole, not just individual clubs.
