DC2
So will the BSPA fine Peterborough double any fee they receive from Torun for allowing Jack to race for them or is their press statement hot air for the fans?

I doubt that it's 'hot air' and I can't imagine that they'll turn a blind eye.
LisaColette
Well it says 'relevant sanctions' so they obviously looking at doing something.
waiheke1
So why were wolves not punished for allowing Thorssel to race? Surely it should be both or neither?
foamfence
So why were wolves not punished for allowing Thorssel to race? Surely it should be both or neither? I though Thorssell was a member of his Polish team from the start of the season, he certainly rode in their opening meeting, so maybe a priority had already been established? So it isn't quite the same as the Holder situation and even if it were, one riders absence to compete abroad shouldn't be allowed to set a precedence for all the others.
Dickie Head
Does anyone really think Jack will repeat his first match score? Total flash in the pan and will be doing 2's and 3's from now on.

LisaColette
AND a paid win over the previously unbeaten ZagarYes and another third, that heat 11 would be a heat 13 or 15 over here! So i make it 5 from 4 rides.

SCB
So why were wolves not punished for allowing Thorssel to race? Surely it should be both or neither? Which should have also resulted in a ban.
TheReturn
This is getting silly now. Regardless of being given permission or not by his club, I am fed up of overseas riders coming in and using British speedway until 'better' opportunities come along. Commit to putting your British club 100% first throughout an entire season or don't sign for a British club.

The world doesn't revolve around Britain.
TheReturn
Go on, I will bite. You are of course absolutely right, the speedway world doesn't revolve around British speedway, that is clear for all to see. If Aussies or Poles or Swedes or Danes thing the grass is greener elsewhere then that is 100% fine. But it is not fine to only half-hearted commit to British speedway, it's not unreasonable to ask riders to choose, ride in the UK or not, but don't half comitt.

In this instance, Holder didn't prioritise Torun and Poland. He told Torun that he would ride but only if the Panthers agreed to release him. Is it Peterborough's fault that a Polish club has silly money to throw around?
eric i
I can see British promoters taking a bung every time there is a fixture clash like this, hope Peterborough get fined. Edited August 6, 2017 by eric i

No it's not Peterborough's fault, or British speedway's or British fans..... it's Holders for not declining Torun and representing his British club.
