MD
Puts our capitulation at Derwent Park last week into perspective Makes a huge difference to have a free scoring reserve. We need to get more from this department. Its all very well Jack Smith scoring points at Belle Vue on what is an easy track to ride but watching him on Thursday night trail in at least quarter of a lap behind the rest on a more technical track and you know he has a long way to go. If Perry has an off night or injured the last places start to rack up leaving the 1-5 to somehow make up the points.
scaramanga
Excellent result, who would have bet on a 5-1 win for heat 15 on our away form?. many thought this was a easy home win but when you look down the scunny line up there would only be josh bates that you would say was unlikely to win a heat obviously it should be josh bailey who i must say held his own along with the rest of the scorpians Edited August 5, 2017 by scarra

Lord Lucan
Deserved win for Scunny, overall the more solid team as for the Comets well, that tail was just a little bit too long tonight, always looking one race behind? Question, where is the "real" Matt Williamson, I dont like this version??
IronScorpion
Again, Fozzie makes a similar statement, this time on updates site about getting rid of Wilko 4 months late but he was 1 of our star performers in the early months. Maybe 2 months late at most but cannot fault his effort. Being by himself being a rider & mechanic probably doesn't help, then getting his engines serviced too late. Fozzie4388
Fair play to Scunthorpe good 4 points them. Just shows what happens when you have 7 riders on the ball the same night and no taggers on just making up the numbers.

workyboy
Top 4 ....... not a cat in bells chance!!! Bottom 4 is a better bet. Shocking display from all bar 3 riders.
Carlislecomet2
Congratulations to Scunthorpe on a well deserved victory. As for the Comets, apart from Craig and Ty, and a lesser extent Thomas they were a disgrace. 12 last places and for the second week in succession having to resort to a TR in Heat 8 at home says it all. The way things are going we are going to end the season (if it ever does end) with half a team of National league guests. The whole of the British speedway set up needs to be shaken up. The top 2 leagues are a joke, and the National league is too cushy. Time for it to be run by people without vested interests, but with the good of the sport at the top of their agenda. Olga
I know the team ... is the team ... but surely a riding order of Cook, Williamson, Campton, Jorgenson, Proctor, R1, R2 would be better? Williamson would at least have Heat 8 to have a go in ... and get some confidence back? Williamson has improved enormously it's just a shame now he's up against teams with more experience/comparably better riders at Number 4 (e.g. Lindgren, Douglas, Bates). Heat 14 without a ringer reserve in the team it's almost a given as a heat dis-advantage :-( Also the improved Campton should be able to take the 3 jacket now? That would leave Heat 13 as Cook, Proctor Heat 14 as Jorgenson,Reserve then Heat 15 as Cook, (Jorg or Proctor). Problem is with our league position not being great and so many matches to play ... that'll affect the crowd as we are not riding in a "current" league table (if you see what I mean)
spanner47
Genuine question for anybody that has met Sarge, is he thick? He was the same at Ipswich, no referee will ever let him get away with a decent start with his reputation, so why cant he just keep still? Surely however thick he might be, somebody must have had a word and explained how much money he must be losing by all these exclusions.
