tocha
it's on the BSPA website. Not doubting you but I cannot find it. Do you have the link?
Falcon Hammer
Link to BSPA website stating Lakeside's withdrawal from the KOC http://www.speedwaygb.co/kocup
tocha
Link to BSPA website stating Lakeside's withdrawal from the KOC http://www.speedwaygb.co/kocup Thanks. I was looking in the wrong place - news archive. Strange that this isn't on either the Hammers or Belle Vue website each showing these fixtures still to be arranged.
cityrebel
How the lakeside management can pull the plug on a plum meeting like belle vue in the cup astounds me. This is one match you could promote with the likes of dan bewley riding. You might even get a decent crowd turn out to watch it.
marko
Almost begs the question, what will happen if Lakeside suffer further rain offs and make the play offs?
Daytripper
So you going to apologise? For what ? You not knowing there are two reserved dates available on the Lakeside fixture list and not knowing what rules apply in the event of a League fixture being rained off ? How the lakeside management can pull the plug on a plum meeting like belle vue in the cup astounds me. This is one match you could promote with the likes of dan bewley riding. You might even get a decent crowd turn out to watch it. I think there is a bit more to it than meets th eye, like BV not wanting to come on dates when half their side are riding elsewhere. I don't know all the ins and outs of it, but from what I can make of it there is some gamesmanship going on.
cityrebel
Surely a successful cup run for the hammers would benefit the club, rather than hinder it.
E I Addio
Surely a successful cup run for the hammers would benefit the club, rather than hinder it. Who knows ? This is speedway we are talking about. ? I used to like the KO cups in the past in the Elite league but they abandoned it. That was really seemed to be the start of great gaps between meetings,
marko
Yeah what has the Hammers won since the Terry Russel era? Only the EL Koc in 2009

Islander15
Link to BSPA website stating Lakeside's withdrawal from the KOC http://www.speedwaygb.co/kocup Basically hidden from the common view. Neither club have bothered to run a news article notifying fans.

The Voice Of Reason
Probably the latter. He was there last night, driving the tractor. Good to hear that Jon Cook has finally found his true vocation in life.
marko
Lakeside have always made sure that there fans are at least second to know what's going on, who are the first? Everybody else! As for Jon Cook driving a tractor, can't they afford a proper track curator now?
cityrebel
Probably not. I would imagine the whole operation is run on a shoestring.
Islander15
Where's all the money gone then? They survived in the EL for a number of years and it would cost a lot more then than it does in the NL now.
Leicester Hunter
Almost begs the question, what will happen if Lakeside suffer further rain offs and make the play offs? It certainly does beg the question, but they'll find dates for those matches, don't worry about that. So Belle Vue have been awarded a 'walk over' in the cup, have they? As in 'swept under the carpet'.
East End Fan
Shame that the KO Cup has been diminished by the Hammers' withdrawal. Should not have been permitted IMO
