Swindon V Poole Thurs 27/07/

Recommended Posts

All of the Robins fans i know dont gloat i watched the meeting with Hagonshocker and he didn't once mention we were beating Poole for him like myself it was just another home win.Ok apart from heat 1 and a few Holder moves (who will be a top class rider) the racing was poor but some of that was because the opposition was so poor. This year at the Abbey we have seen some decent racing so it has not been that dire everyweek after last night Ford needs to except 100 per cent responsibility. He assembled a side that lets be honest is not good anough the balance is not right and his changes of riders this year have not worked.SS you have had some really good times over the years so you have to take defeat and the banter with it when you learn to do that winning is even more special.

Agree I expected a close run more exciting match, probably the worst Poole team I've seen. They always used to set the bar and standards, sure they'll be back. Only 2 matches this season when they haven't hit 40 so well done to Swindon.

I think you'll find I told you what a waste of £17 it would be with the Poole riders 'pootling' around at the back, that you'd get hammered and that you are cannon fodder!

Now you have the cheek to moan about it.

Well just got back and what a load of twaddle the last few pages have been. Can't anyone here string a constructive sentence together? Ye gods come on this is meant to be a forum not the ya hoo boo sucks crap posted on here. Some on here need to grow up.

Now onto the meeting. Utter dire rubbish sorry to say. The Swindon fans will enjoy the win but as a spectacle it was truly awful. Doyle made a pass in heat one, then we had to wait until heat 9 before anything of note happened. It was all from the gate with the Swindon riders rolling and being pulled back or flying from the gate so the race was over first bend. No chance of passing so there was little in the way of actual racing. Just a gating competition which Swindon won hands down.

Thought the crowd was reasonable. Not big but OK. I must admit I thought there would be more but it was a cold night up there.

Swindon do look a good team. Whether they can get close enough to Wolves at Monmore is the challenge if they are going to win it. Clear favourites though. Can see those two in the final.

As expected we didn't have the top end fire power to win heats. We pretty much kept it level after 7 heats but by then all the damage had been done. We are missing Brady and we are missing a number one. For the first time in many years we don't have a rider or two where we can expect a heat win. There's nobody in the team who can power through and score big. This is no doubt going to be sorted this winter but no good for this season.

Score was roughly what I thought it would be. Should have been a little closer but Holder blew a 5-1 with a silly fall, and the ref made an error in allowing Morris off 15 metres when he had been disqualified. He was disqualified for delaying the start after a warning for rolling. There is no 15 metre handicap for this offence so it should have been a 5-0 Poole instead of the 4-2 due to Kennett messing up a bend. This needs to be corrected, not because Poole might have got something out of the meeting as it makes no difference, but if finishing top comes down to points difference and its very close, said points "could" become important.

Well done Swindon on the win. Bringing in Museilak for Gappmier turned them into also rans to clear Championship favourites. For us Pirates its blatantly obvious where our problems lie. No top rider and Brady out. One can be sorted but not the other, making us also rans for this season.

Had you not noticed that the Robins only lost to Wolves by 6 points at Monmore when they were riding badly. This may depend on who finishes top as the choice of home or away could be vital in the final. The Robins go to Monmore again on 4th September & that may tell a tale. I think you will find rule 15:3 covers the Morris incident & off 15mtrs is the correct decision.

I dont fear facing Wolves, of course they are going to be very tough to beat over two legs but the other night Adams looked a worried man. They certainly need a fit Mark Riss back as soon as possible and also Lindgren needs to get back to his early season form a Wolves v Swindon clash would be a hard one to call.

beefy keefy............ Blunsdon Shabbey is a foreboding place, hell on earth.

Too true. That bad they won't even allow dogs in the car park but they can be left in the lay-by up the road which is apparently supposed to be a lot safer.

That is because the security are following the rules of the idiots who own the stadium.

Somebody obviously didn't let the 2 women on the first security tower know the rules as we were allowed in and the dogs made a fuss of through the open window. Check Point Charlie 2 was where the problem started. :P

Who was the Swindon rider who took down Wajknecht last night, seen a couple of posts on FB less then complimentary about the inability to team ride. Wondered if it was an old or young head.

BWD was his team mate in the race. He didn't bring him down but virtually left him with nowhere to go IMHO.

Nothing dirty about it all, for me he should have let Zach turn in before him.

Bradley expressed his regret at going too hard under Zach last night after the victory parade. Hope Zach makes a speedy recovery without the need for surgery and that Bradley doesn't give himself a hard time over it. The team are all so commited sometimes these things happen

With regard to the updates, it happened about as far away from us as possible. There was no contact so didn't mention Bradley. To be fair to him he was racing Holder down back straight, and both were going quicker than Zach, if he had of shut off slightly, to allow Zach to have a clear turn, I think Holder may have nipped between them both. His move was a lot less than Doyle on Morris, the week before, when they both nearly ended up on the floor on bend 4.

If I get banned then so be it.

I don't regret the comments I made in retaliation to a pathetic post from CR. Just like CR doesn't regret his comments.

Anyone would stick up for themselves if they were in my position.

I knew that no GP rider would make himself available.

That's why I have been mentioning middle order riders and some reserves so we could strengthen the top 5.

Oh well. Just got to look forward to next season now and hopefully we will get the team right.

Ok mystic meg.

If that's what your crystal ball told you then so be it.

Banned is harsh as was meant as banter as was what I took the reply😀😀
