Perhaps i should have put that in my original post and underlined it.., But you and others would still pick out something to have a pop at, no matter how small. Again you would all like word for word, no abreiviations, but you should be able to read between the lines. Gary would do the same at Somerset if he could, make no bones about that as i said, he also takes a leaf out of Matts book, and as i also said, he's a very shrewd manager. As i also said, and you failed to acknowledge, i was very suprised that they didnt win more titles in the championship, and i was there when they won there titles, and was over the moon for Bill Debbie and Gary, Gary also works hard to put together a side. But again, like a lot of posters on here you read what you want to read. And being a poole fan, you seem very uptight. Perhaps you are not a fan of Matt either. So if people dont agree with your opinions , you dont want them to quote your posts ? Im afraid thats not how forums work,

To be fair, all clubs have the same issue, not just Poole, but given they generally have the highest attendances in the country 'when doing well', it just seems to impact Poole more when they have not such a good season.. My team for instance were pretty much dire for the last decade at the old track with a bottom two finish pretty regular every year, which meant crowds were not great but the 'hard core' 1000 or so went virtually every week regardless of result. Poole, in particular, seem to have 1000-1500 or so more fans each week I would say when doing well, whereas BV would only get around 200-300 more if having a 'successful' season.. Hence, Poole are probably victims of their own success over the last ten years or so, in that they created an expectation for their fans which is unrealistic to keep delivering in a Sport that changes team strengths so much with its 'survival of the weakest' Mickey Mouse rules.... Add in the 'halcyon days' of the 'turbo twins' in their pomp, who would also have brought people in, and you can see why the Poole of today (and Matt Ford in particular) need to try and stay one step ahead of the game when it comes to successfully building teams.. And no one should blame him for finding an angle in team building if it is legally there for him to find in the first place.. Poole Speedway has to make a profit, and to do that it with the make up of it's fan base, it appears to have to be successful to deliver that profit.. And lets be honest, there's nothing wrong with aspiring to be the best.. Edited March 28, 2018 by mikebv
g13webb
When I read all this stuff about Coventry, Kildemand; Matt Ford and the BSPA . it seems we have gone back in time when this topic was all the rage. Seems to me, in those 7/8 yrs nothing much has changed. Someone telling lies, someone being deceptive, someone bending the rules... I wonder who that could be ???>

Shame certain other promoters can't be a bit more speedway orientated rather than "secret squirrel" types as mentioned in a Rye House post. I seemed to remember Coventry & Peterborough trying to do the best for their respective clubs back in that winter of discontent but where did that get them?

You don't tend to save a lot of money on Poole season tickets as it is! With how crap things where at King's Lynn last season I gave up going even though I had season ticket. Those that have to work around work comitments obviously will be better off paying as they go. So it is an individual choice.

Starman2006
i do know you could dowload an application form for season tickets, but for individual meetings im not sure.. But it might be an idea to enquire on friday if your going and if we are on. I dont know which side you go in but if you go via main grandstand pop in and see Matt, or if you go in glass grandstand side somebody should be there. i will be there and i could ask for you. That's the thing, I was super excited about the team and the season ahead in 2017 so purchased my first ever season ticket. Things that happened after that day v Poole at home left a very bitter taste in my mouth, so much so I didn't see every meeting after that. I now don't have any idea if I'm going to pass the entrance gate at King's Lynn at all this season. The once burning light has been totally extinguished for the King's Lynn Stars. I still enjoy this forum and thing's about King's Lynn Stars but that may qell be it. Watch Speedway on TV, follow updates site and social media, probably go to Cardiff but I just don't feel Buster Chapman deserves any of my money in 2018.
