Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 17/07/17

Recommended Posts

Well done to Poole, for whom Andersen and Worrall were excellent. Things fell their way tonight but the whole point of sport is to seize those opportunities when they present themselves, which they did. A deserved victory.

Wolves' problem, Lindgren's fitness apart, clearly lies at reserve where Riss has been sorely missed. All else, of course, is insignificant compared to Howarth's awful crash from which he has apparently mercifully escaped with concussion alone. Best wishes also to Shanes, who had a good go before departing to injury.

Good to chat with a number of the Poole fans this evening; safe journey home.

Pleased to hear that Howarth is only concussed. Does this automatically rule him out of next Monday's meeting at Belle Vue?

Just heard wolves sign Ellis perks for rest of the season why sign a guy who scored zero at home last week brain dead management

Ridiculous if so. Better off using a Guest such as Starke or Ellis as long as fixtures don't clash - failing that, Ashley Morris at home would be OK.

Mark Riss may be back in a few weeks too, or so the rumour was on here.

If that is true it is disastrous and shows a lack of real ambition by the promotion.

We should have enough in hand to make the play offs but this would kiss goodbye to any chance of finishing top.

According to Adams on WM Wolves have been unable to source shale from their regular supplier for some time now and some riders have expressed concern about track prep

Prior to heat 13 Lindgren was clearly instructing a member of the track staff to do something with the track which resulted in a lengthy spell of track grading.

Poole lucky, in the right place at the right time two matches running.

You can only beat whats in front of you.

We can sign Perks as 28 day replacement and bring him back in August.

You can't sign anyone new after end of July.

I expect Gavin is going through the stats as we speak

Think what he would do if we came back and won the league.

28 day replacement is OK with me, just wouldn't have him till the end of the season permanently as one poster suggested.

Looks like we may limp into the playoffs with niggling injuries to Freddie and possibly Howarth, mixed in with track worries and reserve difficulties. Maybe we will be underestimated? :D
