Championship Fours 06/08 Peterborough

Recommended Posts

Hmmm, home team are fours champions even without one of their best riders, just goes to show why this event needs to be circulated amongst other tracks. On the day clearly the best performance came from Peterborough, I wonder why?

I think we all agree that there's no such thing as a neutral venue these days but moving the pairs, 4's and individual around would at least bring a bit of variety and interest.

The medal ceremony for gatlin is at 6.50 pm today so the response of the fans will be interesting.

Apart from that does this result go to show that the fours and any Championship meeting like this be run on a Premier League track where none of the riders double up if one can be found. Also any Premier championship meeting run on a Championship track.

they need to be at a stadium that can cope with the number of people going and a track that can produce top quality racing. You may as well say don't hold a Grand Prix at a track where one of the riders rides for their club side there....Peterborough is one of the fairest tracks around that most riders enjoy riding with little home advantage, hence the poor home form over the years. Exactly, the team wasn't legal, and did not comply with the rulebook.

Congratulations to Redcar on being the highest-placed legal team.

All the best

Rob

Oh dear...... someone get the tissues. We didn't break the rules for this meeting, we will break the rules for the next month, which is out of order. But for this one, we had bloody Lambert a 3.18 replacing a 9.00 heatleader.....

Each Team must include their Top 4 by MA, with a Reserve being optional. If a reserve is named, then he must be the lowest by MA from the 5 selected riders. Actual Team line ups for the Semi Final must be declared 5 days prior to the event.

For the Final, line ups can be changed, but must be declared within Fifteen (15) minutes of completion of the Semi Final. Each Team must produce professional riders race numbers as per the draw for both the Semi and Final.

A 3.00 reserve instead of our number 1, then BWD, other teams should of beaten us, but they didn't. We turned up when it mattered, others bottled it, deal with it sadly.

Right, so did you use your top 4 by average? If the answer is know you broke the rules. Breaking rules is cheating.

What did the rules say for this meeting???? You broke then fair and square.

most people break the rules to gain an advantage. The obvious point being made is that it made Peterborough far weaker yet they still pulled off a great result to win. What's Schlein winging about now? Edited by Sully

Right, so when Ged said they were in discussions with Torun and other parties ALL week, do you think this may have been done before that 5 day mark?

What has that got to do with it. You MUST select your top four riders. You didn't. You cheated.

Buster Chapman has promised sanctions. Hopefully they will include excluding the illegal Panthers team from the standings.

Sour grapes from the Bitches fans as usual..what about all the years when we didn't win it with a full strength team?

Look at the argument that you're trying to make.

It doesn't hold up.

Well he just tweeted this:

Ride for 200 quid on pathetically prepared track and get pushed off your bike and punched by an official! I'm over this rubbish![/size]

Seems at odds to what was said elsewhere with others saying it was Cook doing the decking. Did anyone who was there see it?

Actually, he probably can. Saturday nights are notorious these days to get replacements in the Premiership - they were when it was the Elite League.

What Rathbone has done is completely sell out. I hope he enjoys the money Torun have given him, that's even if he receives any at all.

If you think this is all over, you're wrong. It's given the Poles carte blanche to do what they like. And they will.
