bdjfan
Ged should have put something in the contract about exclusive use of anything that Peterborough purchase for a rider as it didn't go down well lastnight that BWD got all his points for Swindon on an engine that Peterborough provided. BWD should Only be able to use that when he's riding for Panthers.

BWD is a talented rider, he wouldn't have been short of offers, so it is quite likely that he would have ended up elsewhere if Ged's offer had more onerous conditions attached to it. Crump99
He also said that there was agreement that if there were any clashes that Peterborough would get priority - which Swindon reneged on before the ink was dry on BWD contract We never learn though, which is amazing given that a member of the management team should have seen it, done it, and more than likely experienced all of it (ironically with Swindon). Such agreements are chip paper. When push comes to shove, promoters will forget all such niceties and do what's best for them within the rules of the day, irrespective of Panthers turning into Neville Chamberlain (today's second history lesson!) again. As Neil said, it's clear enough what would happen. As for Holder, he has been the one bright spark, but even he needs a track to race on, not a slick one liner like we had last night. Everyone chasing the line near the fence, and that apparent fantastic gating display against a ragbag Redcar outfit now in the distant past. In that case you have to give your team a plan b of a raceable circuit - we didn't. Having said that, if we did then the scorline may have been worse. Can we start the 2018 thread yet Mick Bratley (who I think I heard Tarzan mutter was there last night?) used to say that preparation for next season started in April so you're a bit late tbh. PANTHERS GONE FOR 2017 Take another day off mate. Edited July 15, 2017 by Crump99
Moranboys
Guys listen the whole season doesn't come down to last night when BWD rode for Swindon. Realistically Peterborough wasn't going to make the play-offs even if they did win last night as Sheffield don't lose at home also Sheffield can easily get points on the road. Look at the top 3 Edinburgh, Glasgow and Ipswich neither of those teams lose at home unless its against each other. The home form is worse than last season and the decision making has been terrible. I got a lot of abusive at the start of the season for giving my opinion and my opinion was 100% correct. Yes Chris Harris signed but he has missed so many meetings for Peterborough and he will be missing the Workington meeting as well. Kenneth Hansen now feels betrayed and rightly so the way he was sacked. In 2018 you need to start from scratch. If J. Holder wants 2nd tier racing then build around him. Sign BWD as the No.2 P. Starke and L. Bjerre should be signed as the No.3 and No.4 pairing. Sign S. Lambert at reserve only because he is on a 3.00 average And build around that. hands off lass mate.he,s going nowhere

If it was a slick one liner and everyone was chasing the outside run, why did we take 1 and 3 again in heat one. Losing out gives the opposition the whip hand, and it's happened so often this season
Crump99
If it was a slick one liner and everyone was chasing the outside run, why did we take 1 and 3 again in heat one. Losing out gives the opposition the whip hand, and it's happened so often this season Not having a quality no1 who gates consistently and intimidates the opposition is a different issue from the coin toss and a slick one line track, if that's what you mean. You ain't gonna get one of those riders in this league anyway, and probably not in British Speedway the way it's going. The likes of Crump, Andersen, Poole etc (ie, when a 3-3 is the worst you'll get in heat 1) are long gone. 1&3 should be good for heat 1 and the first half of the meeting until the dust moves out and drys out. It doesn't matter what gates they choose if they don't wake up until it's too late, again! Although they never got back in this anyway. "We seem to start away meetings slowly and then get going a bit too late so it's important we gel together as a team and be on it from the first heat." - clearly forgot the get together and motivational management speech!
