poole keith
obvious congratulations to the robins well deserved, however there is some nonsense on here, there certainly was no mass exodus of supporters, a few left before ht15 as they do if poole are well in front, this is purely to avoid traffic congestion, there was no booing tho quite a lot of understandable cynical jeering of kk following his final ride.if you speak to any of the swindon riders they would confirm that they got an excellent reception from the poole fans on their victory lap.
Knightime
Jack Holder along with Kurtz , Shanes and Andersen have done their jobs this season. Â Poole would be top of the league if they had a number one who even scored 8-11 a meeting for a start. Â Klindt everyone knew would score bucket loads from reserve but he didnt do as well as expected, hence only being able to be replaced by Lahti who really is only good for 5-7 i would say. Â Starke has been fine but i will never understand why they replaced Newman with him when they did. Starke at number 2 and Newman at reserve would have been more powerful in my eyes then getting Lahti in. Â At the end of the day the fact remains that KK has messed up Pooles season I don't care what any of you think of Gavan - this is actually spot on - well said
SteveLyric2
Well....and I thought it would be a close one!!? So what do I know - except along with all Poole fans a sense of deep disappointment. Â Many congrats to Rosco and the Robins - superior in every department last night - with the possible exception of number 7!! Shanes winning the Rider of the Night award!! Â I think KK was told his fortune on Monday, but its the availability of the replacement rider that necessitated his continued inclusion last night.(2 names in particular circulating last night!) Â As I've said previously, KK's 9.23 average remains until he has completed his 4th home meeting which would be next Wednesday v Somerset, so Matt has a week to confirm/announce the replacement - which I fully expect to happen. Â Matt's column in last night's programme seemed to indicate just one more change (KK!) but his after-meeting comments would seem to suggest there may be more. Whether that is to give the proverbial 'kick up the backside' to the remaining riders or is simply referring to Brady's return we shall have to wait and see. Â Others have given their rider by rider comparisons from last night so no point in repeating, other than to say I agree almost entirely with Steve Shovlar's summary - with the possible exception of Richie Worrall who took a real tumble in his first ride and therefore we don't know how that may have affected his subsequent races!? Â Onwards and upwards Poole fans - still time to get it right, (I've just increased my blood pressure meds!) but August will be a very interesting month. foreverblue
Changes then. Our team will look something like this when B. Kurtz comes in for R. Worrall. Â I think Paul Starke might get the sack due to us having a lot of points left over after getting rid of KK. Nothing wrong with Paul's performances just we would have a lot of points left so we might as well use them. Â When does the Czech league finish? Maybe Milik will join us and his average is only 5.?? something. Â KK and Starke for Milik and Sundstrom? Â 1. H. Andersen 2. J. Holder 3. L. Sundstrom 4. V. Milik 5. B. Kurtz 6. T. Lahti 7. J. Shanes where is the second British rider?
BobC
Thankfully I wasnt there last night. Â Well done Swindon, you can only beat whats in front of you. Not a lot from what Im reading! Â I was there for the KL meeting, yet despite the score, Poole were thoroughly thrashed that night. The score most definitely flattered Poole, big time. I said then that major changes need to be made as Poole were cannon fodder for a half decent team. Â I visited the pits before the KL meeting and all I saw was Poole riders doing their own thing. Normally theres plenty of banter etc. No sign of it at all. No apparent team spirit. KL side were all laughing joking and very up beat. The result was inevitable. We got very very lucky at KL and Wolves, it flatters to deceive. Its probably the worst thing has happened to be honest, as it simply papered over the cracks. Â Now is the time when you find out who the real fans are. Plenty when your winning. Ive heard that quite a few fans were saying they wont come back. Why? Get behind YOUR team, as its now when they really need you. When you have a bad time at work or home, do you dessert your friends or family? Of course not. The best medicine is a comforting word from those that care. Â I simply cant make it to Poole every week, I live over 100 miles away, Plymouth is my local track and I dont finish work on time. I would be there though if I could. I dont always agree or like some of things Ford does, but Poole Speedway is in my blood. I hate seeing the club in disarray as it currently appears to be. It needs sorting and quickly. Â Changes are coming according to Ford. Â I hope so.
gimli27
Nothing to add to this really except both Gavan and Steve on his write up spot on could not believe how we just crumbled understand how KL fans feel after the other day but I will still watch the Pirates in the belief it will get better we are still there or thereabouts for the playoffs
LisaColette
Now I am depressed. After seeing Lynn torn apart by Poole last Thursday, now to see Swindon smash the once invincible Pirates around their own muck heap, has only worsened the mood. Looks Like Both Lynn and Poole are in big big trouble. The only consolation is that Lynn are use to be being the whipping boys of Speedway where as poole are use to be up there fighting for silverware and having the best riders |money can buy. Sad days for both Clubs.Oh dear it must be bad if you're not going on about Poole chocking. Although I guess we would have to be good to begin with to do that! how did you know BritPete was on about you.. Cos it was either him or Starman and Starman goes!
TheRealFiend
where is the second British rider? Â Oh. Â Stupid rules. Â The BSPA have ruined British Speedway now. Why do we have to have 2 Brits per a team. Just keep those silly rules for the Championship

keef robin
The Swindon Armada sailed into town, and after much pillaging and plundering the Poole flag was nicked and replaced by a white one by the back straight bog crew Queues of Pirates lined up to jump off cliffs and piers, and a pile of Speedway Stars were recovered off Hengistbury Head this morning. The Bournemouth and Poole Samaritans have had jammed lines. Just for a motorcycle match between the Knobs and Moonrakers. Is it all worth it?
DC2
Â 1. H. Andersen 2. J. Holder 3. L. Sundstrom 4. V. Milik 5. B. Kurtz 6. T. Lahti 7. J. Shanes I know you're grasping at straws but, out of interest, what are the averages of those riders, and Jonasson? Isn't Sundstrom 7.22? Would that team fit 42? EnglishRoundabout
As KK is leaving shortly, was there a collection amongst the faithful to recognise his sterling service? I wonder, does KK hold the record for the amount of times he has been sacked by British clubs, or even for fake injuries or worst excuses for not riding? Im surprised there is a lack of banter in the Poole pits, usually i would have thought the spirit would be ok in the club. Â Britain are never going to do anything on the world stage anyway. Keep some Brits in the top league. Â Riders like (Cook, S. Worrall, King, R. Lambert, Harris, Nicholls and more). Â Â Lets face it all these stupid Brit rules are just causing havoc anyway. Nearly every Brit doubles up and it causes big problems for Championship sides. Guests galore due to riders doubling up. Â Keep the 2 British riders per a team rule for the Championship. Premiership should be 1 Brit per a team. DC2
Â Current averages on BSPA seem to be Kurtz 8.76, Andersen 8.31, Holder 6.11, Lahti 5.45 & Shanes 2.35, leaving 11.02 to 42, so Sundstrom 7.22 would leave 3.8. Grondal anyone? Â Milik is 5.67, Jonasson 5.3, Gomolski 5.51, Mroczka 5.85, Larsen 6.57, Andreas Jonsson 7.84, Pawlickis 6.75 & 7.32. Maybe Jepsen Jensen (haven't checked but about 5.5?) Â Best 11.02 combo? And if you need two Brits/ex NL riders you'd have to keep Starke 4.83 & drop Holder, leaving 12.3, so maybe Gomolski & Milik? Â But would that really improve the team? Â You're doomed!
chris4gillian
It won't surprise anyone that Ford is obviously working behind the scenes to replace Kasprzak, it will clearly be a GP star and the deal will be done before the end of the month. Â Will be done by the end of the week according to todays Echo.

poolebolton
I think Matt will be seeing a few riders coming over today for the GP tommoz. Only rider who we can win the league from here is Magic/Dudek!! Not a chance they sign but only two. Â Matt needs to sign someone with UK experience! Â Lahti is a good rider! If he can get 10 in Sweden and Poland should be able to get it here. Should have got more points last night if KK didn't cut him off!
