Sheffield V Berwick Thursday 13th July

No, I'm not stupid enough to condone the shambles that has been put out over the last few years like yourself by paying money to watch it. Actually want to see good speedway and a team built with the intention of being competitive, not just built to appease happy clappers like yourself. Could stick 7 elephants out on track for 'the mighties' and you'd cheer them on then come on and tell us what a good meeting it was and how hard they tried. Still, each to there own.

Can't wait to see you when you come back

Berwick speedway, the club with more team managers than home league wins . The phrase pi** up in a brewery springs to mind.

One Manager and an Assistant Manager to be fair.

As I said before, I don't think the team was right from the outset, thought there were too many ifs about it, good changes were made mainly due to injury but in due course they were injured, only one rider in the team has not been on the injury list this season. The manager should have replaced Payne long ago, just don't understand that, could be as simple as everyone they contacted did not want to ride for us, who knows, apart from the management.

In fear of repeating myself, the track is miles away from what we have suffered in recent seasons, there has been some really good racing. Unfortunately, due to the weaknesses of our team set up, we are not on the winning end of the meeting. It would be nice to win every week at home, with a very close meeting 46--44 is an ideal score for me, keeps you on the edge of your seat. I will repeat myself, are those fans that must win, doesn't matter how boring, are they so fickle, or like myself, who are paying to be entertained and getting good value for money. I want to be entertained, and I am being so.

well done to the tigers.got stuck in and dug in deep when it mattered.also well done to berwick for putting up a fight.i,for one, do like the t/r ruling as it keeps the meeting more interesting.yes, berwick would probably have been in deep doodoo without it but kept the meeting alive for them with a slim chance of picking up a point.yes, lucky to have richard lawson as a guest but we had guests last season that got us through to the play off final so no qualms there.all in all a very entertaining meeting run very efficiently by the promotion.also that georgie wood looks a fine prospect especially around owlerton(first time?).would be good to sign him if possible along with jan graversen.

You right on Payne boss! Problem is they probably struggling to find a decent rider around 2. I read in Star most of the decent NL lads just looking for guest bookings, Knight and Wood spring to mind. Ruddick would be good shout but been out for a month.

Don't think you are correct there. This season thus far we have had the team manager referred to as Havelock, Courtney, Dennis and now Flint has been added to that list. I agree with you however, the team was rubbish before we started. I don't have any experience in speedway I am just a fan but I could have told you Bridger had no chance of maintaining that average. Vissing has caused problems where ever he has been, Berge you only needed to speak to Glasgow to find out a thing or two about him. Straight away theres 3 guys who had massive question marks over them. Would the Edinburgh or Newcastle promotion have signed any of those 3? Doolan has been on the decline for the past 3 seasons, people are only blinkered by the fact he's on the face of it done well as he's ridden in many useless Berwick teams. The other 3, Gappmeir seemed consistently inconsistent, Carr trained all winter apparently and spoke a good game at the P&P but it never seemed to happen for him.

I cant comment on the racing as I don't go anymore as I wont line the pockets of people who aren't fussed about putting a serious team out, but fair play to them if they have improved the track, it certainly needed it. I'm like you in terms of I just want to see good speedway. I went to Bell Vue a few times last season and my god that gets your interest back in the sport, as did the world cup meetings from Vastervik and Leszno. Berwick are by no means alone in what is happening to speedway in this country. Events like last night at Kings Lynn just show the sport is on its backside and if it keeps going in this fashion it might just cease to exist in the very near future.

I look forward to the happy clappers telling me I don't go so I'm not entitled to an opinion :D .

Think you are wrong on Dennis and Scott, they are both promoters, not down as Managers this season, I cannot think of any time this season they have taken on the role, might be wrong though.. Like you had doubts about Bridger, Vissing is a selfish rider not a team man, which proved to be true. On Berge I think he has talent, but he needs a management that can bring out that talent, someone to nurture him, I am not sure that is what we have at Berwick. Doolan is what he is a good 2nd string and a very good Captain.

Probably because I'm tired of the whining. But I'm a happy clapper.

Doesn't matter of their whining, happy clapping, or anything else, the important thing is they are coming through the turnstiles each week. When that doesn't happen there`s a problem.
