MD
Aye they made them tougher back in the day . I remember Danny Bird riding at Glasgow one night , and throwing up in the pits ...................ok bad example That same season we were due at Mildenhall the day after the Cardiff GP, which used to be a big riders night out and DB withdrew with a sinus issue! Turned an almost certain away win into a narrow defeat.

LagutaRacingFan
A really disappointing display from Jack Holder. Â Expect so much better from him.
MD
Thoroughly decent meeting to watch. PB were strong at the start with Starke superb and well partnered with OsterG. With the track slick to start, after watering and a regrade PB lost momentum but came back into it again as it dried and slickened off. Â Despite winning only 3 heats Peterborough kept in it by avoiding last places as Bewley and Worrall had their worst meeting of the season so far. Worrall seemed lost in the slick conditions and Bewley had machine issues to start. Holder did a good impression of Bombers gating technique and somehow never won a race but was terrific to watch. Onward to Berwick next weekend.

Tapeworm
Do they not give "the dumps" to a rider scoring a maximum anymore ? Or has Elf & Safety put paid to that bit of fun too ?
Lukas
Good effort Panthers..cant help thinking we would have got something from this had Harris been riding.

New era Panthers
Good effort Panthers..cant help thinking we would have got something from this had Harris been riding. Fair result under the circumstances , I didn't rate Panthers chances even with Ben Barker but if he had rode maybe we might have nicked a point. It's always hard going away using R/R as it means there is no room for slackness from the other 4 of the top 5 especially as they are replacing the NO1. Now onto Friday and Sheffield who got lucky at Workington without Craig Cook , that's 2 fortunate away wins the have had now and BWD will be missing riding for Swindon at Belle Vue.It will be interesting to see who we get as a guest. Gazc
Enjoyable nights racing in the sunshine what i liked when some are having an off night the rest step up to the plate, both Dan & Richie not scoring what we are used to & Nike, Rich & Aaron all put in impressive performances both Dan & Richie looked down on power all night but both chipped in with important race wins when it mattered. Â I have never seen a more impressive rider put so much effort in without getting a race win what a talent young Jack Holder is and a joy to watch , both Starke and Ostergaard had impressive heats which meant it was always close to an extent, had Bomber been there P'boro may have got closer but the low scores by Dan and Richie offset that to a degree they won't score as low as that as a pair at home again this season. Â But it takes two teams to produce a good meeting and both teams deserve plaudits for giving an enjoyable nights entertainment well done to both. Starke was quite brilliant in his early heats hugging the white line at speed coming off bend four with full leg over the bike style. A lesson there for Perry who twice couldnt pass Wilson Dean as he sat mid track on the corners and TP only does the outside. Pernickety i know but 5 last places from our reserves at home is not good. Paulco
Phil "The Bucket" Jeffrey comes to mind. He had a legitimate excuse , that was Exeter Anyway , agree with what everyone has said , enjoyable and interesting meeting with solid performances on both sides . For us Aaron was brilliant , Richard messed up his maximum by going too wide on bend 4 in heat 15 , yes Dan and Richie had below par nights , but both still produced important race wins just at the right time . Nike had his best meeting for a long time , and although our two reserves had the bulk of the last places , they still rode above their average and 5-1'd heat 2 . Starke and Ostergaard done their job superbly for the Panthers , while Holder was exciting if a little erratic at times . Wilson Dean and Carr didn't offer much , but Bacon at 7 was solid and got better as the meeting went on , probably the best visiting number 7 that's been to Ashfield this season . R/R for Barker yielded 8 points from the four programmed rides , so not really that much down from what Barker , or even Harris , would have scored . damosuzuki
Very enjoyable. Still think Harris would have got Peterborough a point at least.
Paulco
Very enjoyable. Still think Harris would have got Peterborough a point at least. Very possibly , but I don't think he would have coped with Summers , or Lawson , especially in the early part of the meeting . They were that good
scoobydoo
Think in hindsight Chris Harris would of been better riding at Glasgow instead of in the World Cup given GBs poor performance . Tom Bacon is improving to the fact hes almost certain now to be one name inked in for Peterborough for 2018

Tom Bacon is improving to the fact hes almost certain now to be one name inked in for Peterborough for 2018 That was always going to be the case over there , and Harris done as well as he could in the final . It's a shame that the top league shuts down for that week , but yet we're supposed to just carry on with loads of guests or rider replacement . The World Cup shouldn't be a yearly event anyway , between that and the silly joker , it's just a novelty event with it's importance watered down .
allthegearbutnaeidea
So Barker was at Stoke on Saturday night practising and wasn't ill but no wonder he pulled out when P'Boro's team manager wrote this on Friday morning @ct_johnson16 @PboroPanthers @Jackwoohaa barker strikes again, Back straight collision last night but wasn't unfair riding (jokes) Â No wonder he doesn't want to ride for a team manager who is slagging you off the day before you're meant to be guesting for him, good on you Ben

Not good enough letting the paying public down like that regardless of what Carl Johnson has said , and not good for the sport in general. Where did this information come from . Is there any truth in it or is this just hearsay.
