Newcastle Diamonds Vs Berwick Bandits Sgbc 2 July 2017 6.30pm

It seems I have upset Howe in my comments, I am sorry David, you havn't done anything wrong since signing for us but lets face it Kev has a guarenteed team place and isn't going to be dropped and we need to try something for next year, this current team is ruining thenfan base at the moment there will be no one left by the end of August it will be like the Eddie Wright Raceway. We can't let our club die but fans want to see the team win and if they cant win put up a fight and that is not happening and can't happen with a team like this lets face it, no disrespect is inteded to you as out of Doolan, Bridger and yourself you are the one who has done the best job as your average shows but with the circumstances you would be the one to go as you have an average that can be replaced by a 7 point assessed rider or a 5.

First off no rider should have a guaranteed team place, be it Doolan or anyone else but I get what your saying. If we don`t move away from that kind of mentality it will be tough to take the team forward. Berwick need to get back to a seven man team, and need Bridger and Morris back asap, Morris has with drawn from Friday`s SWC race off through injury and will miss our meetings this weekend, while Bridger has been referred to a spinal specialist and will under go an MRI very soon, hopefully if there is good news he will be back in the team, and after being lightened in the pocket by the SCB I`m sure he will be keen to return.

The guy Wright at Sheffield was actually at Redcar to watch the Edinburgh match, just stood in the stand enjoying the Bears win!

I would have enjoyed a Bears win that night also.

Berwick Bandits surely? It wouldn't make sense for John Anderson to keep the assets when he has no interest in Speedway and isn't just switching clubs, I don't know if he can anyways

It may have changed but I don't think an individual can own assets riding in a team. How would the minimum bond level be calculated if held privately. If riders are owned by an individual and that individual was without a team, the assets are controlled by the BSPA, in the same way foreign riders are as well. Malcolm Wright owned a lot of riders from his years at Hull. When Hull closed down, he alighted himself with Sheffield and became co promotor with Neil Machin. Malcolm's assets were held by Sheffield, and they might still be the new owners assets as part of the transfer deal. Alternatively, the assets could effectively be held by the likes of Sheffield, but when sold the monies collected by the sale could be given to Malcolm, according to how the deal was structure when Mr Bates bought Sheffield.

Likewise with Berwick, John Anderson could have some say in the transfers depending on the deal agreed. It may have suited the new consortium for the deal to be lower with less assets to make it easier to buy the Andersons out.

Honestly you've not upset me, I've had much worse said about myself

I just think it's a little on the harsh side that I'm doing what I'm doing on the back of my comeback, who's to say I won't be the 7 point plus rider needed next year?

Also you have to remember speedway is also a form of income to myself, imagine you got a new job, did slightly better than you or others thought you would then I said I think you should lose your job so the company can bring in someone who may or may not do better than you, but thanks anyway.

On the flip side i can also see the valid points in your argument, I want the club to succeed as well.

David

Your doing a great job David, espiecially after to knock you took at Berwick. That the trouble with speedway a lot of people think if you replace 6 pt man with a 7 they think he going to score 10. Averages are not a true reflection of how the points are scored as can be seen in both leagues when reserves move into the top 5. and struggle to get a point.Keep up the good work and I hope you are enjoying your racing.

That is the point I was making,it might not be the present Promotion who got the money for Bellego depending how the sell out was negotiated.

Unfortunately I have a feeling we might not see the return of Lewis Bridger which if it happens will be a massive loss. He was just finding his feet and along with Nick Morris gave us a top two who were the match for most in the league. Hope I am wrong as it will certainly impact on mine and many others activities on a Saturday night. ☹️☹️

He apparently now lives in Eastbourne again and has split up with partner, as usual with Bridger think their is too much going on behind the scenes

Hasn't he also just been fined £150 by BSPA for comments made on social media 'along the lines of the organisation being run by monkeys!!!'
