Glasgow V Sheffield Ch 1 July 2017 7pm

Bottled it?

Or afraid of being bottled?

Tractor grading is included in the entrance price though so presumably improves the vfm.

So you're a weegie short arse?

Bates IS a big miss for Sheffield tonight. Last 2 visits to Glasgow he got 14+2 at reserve for Somerset and 9 at number 2, 11 days after the first. He beat everyone of Glasgow's big hitters with the exception of Lawson over the 2 meetings. He has been much improved this year IMO, not as erratic and more consistent. Don't think Sheffield would have won with Bates but maybe sneaked a point!

Surprisingly easy tonight not sure if we were that good or Sheffield were that bad think the former may be favourite.

Have to Congratulate Lasse Bjerre on a very good visiting performance just as well really or it would have got to silly proportions score wise.

For us every single rider done there job and not one failure in a very dominant display.

But how well has young Jack progressed you can see how much more confident he has become.

How did Dan Bewley go tonight?

Quite a poor meeting tbh. Bjerre and Josh were decent but the rest werent. Howarth seemed to have the wrong set up all night but never changed. Rider replacement for Bates got 3, its open to debate if thats reflective. Think Peterborough will be a harder prospect next weekend.

I actually enjoyed the meeting, some spectacular racing, thought howarth tried his guts out in his first 3 races and bjerre and Josh were good value. Our top 5 were impressive and the reserves both did their job and more. Another good crowd but not surprisingly down on last week. Roary was good fun and the ref kept the match going with everything finished just after 8.30.

Finished earlier than normal as the tractor only did 4 laps of grading at ht10! Also Dishington never pulled back any of the flyers from Bjerre or Worrall. Im sure Bates would have added a different dimension if he was there.

Not the sort of performance we were after when going up against a seriously good team, hopefully learn from it and next time go a lot better.

Todd Kurtz & Rob Branford might be getting a bit nervous about their team spot if don't improve away from Owlerton soon.

Both of them were pretty dreadful , the young lad Stoneman had a lot more fight in him than those two did . Highlight of the night was Dan Bewley going round the outside of Josh Grajczonek ,exiting bend 2 , like he was stood still .

Dan Bewley is going to be one hell of a rider, when first saw him round Owlerton you could tell he would go far in the sport.

Also good to see some Sheffield fans in the crowd. did wonder if moving to a Saturday night would attract more visiting fans. Anyway hope you all enjoyed your visit even though the result wasn't what you might have hoped for.

That group of Sheffield fans go everywhere to follow their team , if we raced on a Tuesday night at midnight , they'd be there . I know them all well and they're a credit to their club .
