Belle Vue -v- Rye House

Recommended Posts

Kenneth and Harris seem to be a law to themselves with regards to Rye House. Perhaps now you can understand how the Coventry fans feel about the Sunday fiasco and your promotions couldn't care attitude to a long standing arranged fixture.

I'm a Rye fan and I totally agree with you especially as I saw you had a coach booked to bring fans down. Our last home Saturday meeting was on 20th May, our last home meeting was on Wednesday 14th June which many of us couldn't attend due to work etc and now our next home meeting isn't until July 15th so we're not too happy with our promotion either (sorry for the rant). Hope we can see Coventry back in the league in the future.

Harris had his best performance at the NSS, Nicholls had his moments but Barker was ok but wasn't able to replicate his Monday night performance.

For the Aces, Cook and Worrall looked slow and Steve did have machinery problems as did Tungate who ended up borrowing Bachelor's bike. Fortunately, three 5-1's in the last few races made the win look easier than it was but Rye can feel that their efforts in the first 9 heats were deserving of a point.

So many mechanical issues tonight. Never known anything like it. Steve used 3 different bikes. Tungate on Fricke bike in the end. Craig looked really slow . Very unusual.

Hopefully once Rohan gets settled we will be more comfortable because at the moment we are better on the road. We are making hard work of every home meeting

Groundhog Day. Another point lost over the closing heats. From reports we got away lightly due to some BV machinery issues.

Not sure what we're supposed to do now. A top four place looks unlikely. Do we just consolidate, or make a change or two for a late play off push? Gut instinct tells me the former.

I'm not gonna knock individual riders as I wasn't there. Every other side has made changes, some even dropped riders that seemed to be doing ok.

Professional speedway is a tough sport. Difficult decisions need to be made.

What was Mark Lemon thinking , singling out Sedgmens poor performances on the centre green mic ?

Very unprofessional , gone down in my estimation there Lemo

Disagree there, we all knew or at least had an idea why the change was made, Mark simply confirmed what we already thought was the reason.Sedgeman has done a good job for us,but Tungate makes us stronger where we need it most, round the NSS.

Yes i agree with the change , but Lemon specifically mentioned JS performance in two away meetings (Somerset , can't remember the other ?)

In quite derogatory terms . Surely in any sport thats something kept between the rider / player and manager not broadcast on centre green mic ?

We had a guest?? Thats a facility surely

Apparently no facility these days means a rider up to Championship 4.00 (great scam to be had there getting your 2 pointer to quit and replaced by a 4 pointer) Edited by SCB

Message to our fans:

I would like to inform you all of the facts surrounding last night's Belle Vue fixture.

This was a re-arranged fixture, this date was the best option out of the three possible dates Mark Lemon offered me. As you are aware, both of our Team's riders have many motorsport commitments, here and overseas. With Mark missing Bjerre and us missing Kennett - this was actually better than other dates where we both would be missing multiple riders.

I submitted my Team line up to Mark Lemon (who I would just like to say is a very valuable addition to British Speedway) with Justin Sedgmen and Ben Barker as guests early this week.

However, I needed Management Committee approval for Edward's facility as he was travelling overseas to a FIM event. This facility was denied at 4.15pm on 23 July.

My only option was to bring in a Championship rider up to the value of 4 points. I do not make up the rules.

As a Team we are not halfway through our season and it is certainly NOT over! The Team will be doing everything we can to reach the play-offs, that is our AIM make no mistake!

I would like to personally thank Ben Barker and James Sargeant and of course our Rockets for a fantastic effort last night. It was a true display of fantastic racing, I'd say definitely up there with the best racing I have witnessed!

Thank you all for your support.
