norbold
I didn't know that Britmet. He was obviously very much better than I remember. When did you see him then, TWK?

steve roberts
Oyvind S Berg was quite popular at Oxford wasnt he Steve? him along with Middleton and the underated Genz all were Oxford legends. Very much so Sid...and many fans were disappointed that he was unable to return in 1973 (he did, however, put in some brief appearances for Poole in 1974)

He was very popular at Glasgow , who he joined from that mob along the M8 . He was at Glasgow's 60th anniversary meeting in 2006 and I asked him what the " S " stood for , he replied " super " . Sadly he passed away not too long after that .
The White Knight
When did you see him then, TWK? I haven't seen him at all norbold. I read about him a long time ago. I'm talking many years, and that is what I mean't. My memory of what I read must be wrong.

britmet
True he pulled up no trees in 1953 at West Ham in just 4 matches, ................................ Totally agree. In 1953, during his brief time with West Ham Basse Hveem top scored at Norwich, when as reserve he recorded 5 race wins and set the fastest time of the meeting. In two appearances at Poole he won a World Championship qualifying round with 14 points and scored 17 points for Overseas against Britain. . Okay, that makes Hveem even better than I've credited him to be ! .. . . . or I could say "One swallow. . . ." but I won't. .

Egon Muller never rode a home match for us , he was gone after two away matches . Christer Sjosten was a cracking little rider . Hampden was much bigger than Coatbridge , Sidney , though Coatbridge was exciting with high bankings much like the Shay

It states 475 yards on here - see 'Link': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crewe_Stadium But I was always under the impression it was 440 yards. Still very big. He beat Bruce Cribb in his first race for his solitary point. Was a bit hairy but wasn't afraid to wind it on. As Max Boyce would say : "I was there"

Red Flag
Think Harrfeldt and Langli also had brothers riding? So did Dag Lovaas, Ulf if I remember correctly
steve roberts
So did Dag Lovaas, Ulf if I remember correctly Yes Ulf rode for Cradley and Oxford...could have achieved more in Britain but army/family commitments dictated otherwise. cyclone
Forgive me for forgetting one meeting when I was 14 lol The booze has certainly taken it's toll on you - you look at least seventy plus nowadays!
Paulco
Think Dag Lovaas was probably the best Norwegian I've saw . There was a Johnny Faanfeng ( sorry spelling ) who rode for Glasgow when I was a wee boy , I can vaguely remember him , think he was quite good . During the Hampden years we had the tragic Svein Kaasa who was killed there 45 years ago this year . Torbjorn Harrysson who rode for Newport was also very good , and of course Reider Eide was the first Monarchs bogeyman lol The booze has certainly taken it's toll on you - you look at least seventy plus nowadays!
