Glasgow V Ipswich Ch - Saturday 24 June 7pm

Recommended Posts

Well a home match at last and a potential banana skin. We haven't ridden at home for weeks so will bound to be a bit rusty. And we are without young Dan on U-21 duty, the trouble with signing brilliant young riders ;) So we have Ryan Douglas as a guest, good luck Ryan. Otherwise our team is as normal. The witches line up as follows (from official facebook page)

1 Danny King © 8.88
2 Kyle Newman 6.31
3 Cameron Heeps 6.64
4 Justin Sedgmen 7.60
5 Rory Schlein 8.06
6 Connor Mountain 2.67
7 Nathan Greaves 2.26
TM - Ritchie Hawkins.

the witches have a strong 1-5, a bit like us so it could come down to the reserves. Think Tigers will get a win but the witches will get a point

Could we not have used r/r for Dan ? Obviously not as we had to interrupt wobblers playtime to get a replacement . Hope Tom Perry is on top form as he's going to be busy . Ipswich currently battering Workington , so this is going to be a huge test for us , especially an important rider short .

Just noticed I've had a blond moment , I got my Douglas' mixed up , I misread and thought it was that wobbler from Berwick that turns up for them at number 8 now and again . Ryan is a decent guest

Glasgow won't get beaten at home all season, the best Witches can hope for is an unlikely point..

Should be a cracking meeting though , should the weathergods allow it to go ahead .

Stroll in the park....

nah theres no way the Witches will hit 60 😛

Hope we give it a good go. Agree with Blu that Glasgow are unlikely to get beat at home all season.

A point would be a great job done.

What u21 meeting is it

From tigers official facebook Dan Bewley has been called up to represent Team GB in the European Under 21 Championship.

Think we have a cracking team

1. Richard Lawson

2. Ryan Douglas (Potential 5-1 Pairing)

3. Richie Worrall

4. Nike Lunna

5. Aaron Summers

6.Tom Perry

7. Jack Smith

My prediction is 55-35 with Worrall on a max and lunna on a paid max

Well that's us doomed

Ryan Douglas should be a reasonable replacement than r/r for Bewley. He's a rider i would haven taken a punt on, gone stale at Scunthorpe and would benefit from a change of track. On a 5.54 average he's a second string but just over a month ago he was having to ride at No1 for Scunthorpe on a low average. Be interesting to see how he goes at No2.

On his day he's a cracking little rider . He won the individual tournament at the two days fours meeting at Peterborough last year . I thought he would kick on this season , but for whatever reason it hasn't worked out that way , so far

No need to worry about anything, away from Foxhall we are mostly 'Pony and Trap'!

Hard to know what to expect from Ipswich . They clearly are a very good side and capable of winning anywhere , but away from home they have underperformed so far .

King is good anyway , generally , and although Schlein hasn't ridden at Ashfield since his " Poo Boy " days as a Monarch , he remains a very capable heat leader at this level .

Of the rest , Sedgmen looks good when he gates , less so when he doesn't . Newman and Heeps haven't really set the heather on fire , but you just never know with them . The reserves I expect to struggle . So it's one of those meetings that could finish 46-44 just as easy as it could finish 55-35 .

Hope the forecast gales, don't hit this meeting and that all riders have a safe and successful meeting

It's been very breezy tonight and a lot chillier than it has been recently
