marge
Ref Speedway Star, Jake describes the track as atrocious and the riders have been complaining all season. I'm aware of what Jake had to say, hes had a few good meetings on an "atrocious" track. So I was trying to say the track maybe inconsistent, what do I know? womble53
Perhaps he likes the track wetter and not a dust bowl ? Dust bowl... give it a rest. There was no dust at all last week and the track had been heavily watered. Rubbish Ref Speedway Star, Jake describes the track as atrocious and the riders have been complaining all season. I couldn't agree with this post more. From the outside looking in the track has looked in the best shape I can remember for many a year. We've been served up some fantastic racing this year, the type of stuff that wouldn't be possible regardless of the calibre of rider on an 'atrocious' track. In my view, last week was not the best track we have seen this season, but it could in no way be described as atrocious, far, far, from it, as can be seen by IDH's photos. For the record, at the 'Rider of the Night' award after last weeks meeting, Richard Lawson described that so called atrocious track as 'MINT' !
coomie
I think jakes comments are because he's not getting the points he was hoping for,Richard and Cameron seem to of come in and done ok on it ,josh and wrighty seem to be doing well, jakes got ot remember he up against better rider now. SomersetBlue
He's Australian they always blame anyone but themselves, so far he has blamed a motor problem and the track yet everything was fine when he got 17 points 😂 could just be having a laugh as I can't see him saying it to the SS when doesn't he live with Debbie.
Cliffeboy
Solid 8 from Wrighty last night, paid max for Newman against Worky and beat Cook a couple of times. Leicester have a genuine chance here now to get a result , if Garrity is not riding. On the flip side it will be a great boost if the Rebs can get a win by more than 8. A lot riding on this IMO. krompa
What's going on with Garrity? Fit for British Final then missed the trip to Poole. Any idea about tonight?
SomersetBlue
If the real Allen shows up and Ellis starts to show his real potential then this could be the best reserve race of the season.

He was pants for Poole against us , so hoping he's riding. If not then King will get one of his rides.
Starman2006
Have a look at IDH's brilliant photo album here: http://ihitchcock.zenfolio.com/somerset_v_kings_lynn?fpciidx=51 The last photo is from heat 14 I believe. Can't see any dust clouds there that's for sure! If you also look at the first few you can actually see how heavily watered the track was! Plenty of dust 4 frames down. Naijer you need your eyes tested..

He wasn't fit for the British Final hence his poor score and pulling out of his last ride.
SteveLyric2
To be honest, when I first heard that Lions had signed Kyle Newman (5.26), I assumed it was to replace Garrity (6.00)?! Edited June 23, 2017 by Skidder1
oldtimer
Not really interested in the quality of the racing then? Yes but to go regularly I want to support a team, and see visiting teams top riders. It would be different if it was just a fiver to get in, but at the moment not getting what you are paying for. Still watch plenty of speedway but on TV. Brilliant move by Gary May to sign all seven of the Swindon Riders to ride for Somerset. I assume they will be doubling up or would it be doubling across? Bald Bloke
This could be a 60-30 going by the fast start by the Rebels Edited June 23, 2017 by Bald Bloke

Robbobee
Just one solitary heat winner for the Lions ( Lasse Bjerre ) during the whole match says it all - pathetic !
Teromaafan
Nothing short of embarrassing tonight. We remain the joke of British Speedway despite all the recent rider changes (just different punch lines). Although not strictly true of tonight's line up, how can a team be at it's weakest when they are supposedly at full strength! This is not as stupid as it may appear since we had some very close away meetings at the start of the season with a heavy guest presence. Would love to know how 'no pressure Jolly Jim' took this one tonight and hope he apologised (adding a beer wouldn't seem unreasonable) to any Lions fans who made the journey to Somerset. Is there any better example of it can't get any worse?
Robbobee
The end of season relegation battle is going to be interesting I reckon .... Lions v Monarchs / Glasgow or Ipswich .... not sure we would prevail over any of those three teams
Gresham
Absolutely cracking meeting tonight...Lions may have lost heavily, but the score really doesn't reflect how close the racing was. Lions riders battled really hard and were often all over the Rebels...however when they did make the gate, Lions were less clinical in staying out front. Some really great races...probably the closest I've seen all four riders together throughout a whole race. It always looked like someone was going to make a move or be overtaken. The track looked a lot slicker tonight...less watering it seemed. However it has been scorching all week. So got a bit dusty towards the end. Was impressed by the hard and dogged riding of Adam Ellis...never ever gave up and seemed to find extra drive out of bend 2 on many an occasion. Speedway was the real winner tonight. Glad I went.
