semion
Trees, for me and many others our moans have nothing to do with a conspiracy theory, it is simply the fact that the respect the club once commanded is quickly disintegrating. We all know the weather last night was good enough to run this meeting, however it was not run and a two sentence press release put out blaming 'adverse weather conditions' is very disappointing. If you think this kind of behaviour is positive then I believe you are the minority and not the members of this forum who are speaking their minds. Why don't you step back in JC and protect your inheritance ? A lot of people miss you around Saddlebow. You weren't everyone's cuppa tea, but many respected you for the decent job you did. Still on the plus side if Buster does mess it up with the Speedway there wont be so much tax to pay when you get your cut
mrss
To say nobody lost any money last night is wrong. Some of the riders might have been relying on there wages from last night to pay bills. I know the meeting will take place sometime but riders might need money now. It was a big mistake by the club not to run last night.
Aces51
I can think of one club that might be feeling that there is one rule for them and another for certain others. It seems to me to be just as bad to call off a meeting for a pretend weather forecast as it is to invent a water leak. We were rightly fined, had points deducted and meetings could only be called off by an SCB official. What is very disappointing is that Buster as chairman of the BSPA seems to have done little to improve the sport. The farce over averages, doubling up and fixture planning seems worse and what happened to the promised new rule book?
semion
The only people out of pocket was King's Lynn Speedway. there must have some expense such as Programmes Staff food outlets and other expenses however small. and no money coming in I thought the Food outlets were now franchised out to a 3rd party. Has the food offering improved this season ?
Theboss
Things wasn't always rosy when you was involved neither.I remember the time we were meant to be down at Newport. The website/programme had us down on such a date,i booked a hotel only for this meeting never even to be on this date.I found out from my brother that this date was never even mentioned.I emailed you to discuss this but guess what i never got a reply. At least i saved on petrol but couldn't get my hotel cost back. I can assure you that if I received an email I would have replied. However if you think that the club was not run as well as what it is now then I have to accept that and apologise for letting you down. I hope you continue to enjoy your speedway. Maybe JC could give us some idea of the financial implications involved in early call offs as opposed to call offs just before start time. For people that own their own track a call off early in the morning has very little financial implication. However a call off from a few hours before the start up until heat 7 can be very expensive. Why don't you step back in JC and protect your inheritance ? I wasn't even mentioned in the 50th anniversary programme which must tell you something about what I should expect in such an event. Besides, life is more satisfying when you build your own wealth and success from ground zero rather than expecting it from others.
SPEEDY69
I see two more meetings today have been postponed well in advance due to adverse weather. It seems to be becoming a trend. Is it possible this is now an accepted route for BSPA members when they think crowd levels will be down? BTW I accept the weather was OK for speedway last night, my post early yesterday afternoon was based on the weather at that time. Maybe JC could give us some idea of the financial implications involved in early call offs as opposed to call offs just before start time. I agree. I think there may be more of a financial impact if you rent a stadium rather than own it.

Trees
Well Nicklas chucked away £340 on flights so the call off cost him... Buster told Nick's manager that it was "too windy to carry the air fence and panels for straights"....quoted from David's Twitter.
mrss
A few posts back you said last nights call off didn't cost anyone any money. Your last post seems to have blown that statement.
Bagpuss
All this talk of points being awarded is silly, it won't happen without proof. Last time we saw that was when Belle Vue had their 'water leak'. While I understand people's frustration sums of the reactions on here are bordering on delerious. The truth will never be known, although there does seem a trend that any weather other than that which will get in the maximum crowd leads to a call off. All this will do is put off those travelling from afar or those floaters who aren't committed to going every week. One thing I will say is that there us always the feeling that the promotion aren't telling us everything with their statements.

GWC
The rewards for getting to the playoffs must now be huge otherwise teams are blowing good will away quicker than last nights breeze in Kings Lynn!!

Buster told Nick's manager that it was "too windy to carry the air fence and panels for straights"....quoted from David's Twitter. I would have thought the air fence and panels would fit in a large van.If not why not hire flat bed truck for £80-£100 for 24 hours.
lynnboy
They have a train of trailers in the Carpark on the back straight which is towed by a tractor to put the fence panels on etc

People are always at their happiest when they have sumink to moan about. Next thing will be people will be moaning about a Hung parliament, that after voting for one.
