royal
Well, there were three of us going tonight. Will not bother with the new date, something well fishy going on here. Will look to another away match instead.
Kickitov
what went wasn't Porsing's GTR which is what he uses as #1 bike Based on how he's performed he'd have been better off using the one that's been stolen!!
5 FURROW
in a 'health & safety' dominated world, I think the reason would be that the club couldn't guarantee the safety of everyone in the stadium when we have winds this strong. Â I'm disappointed in the postponement, but sometimes you have to think around just the track Yet another one arse licking the management you may have not come out with a comment like that if you were on terraces another night wasted there's more to this and everyone can see other than you

g13webb
Â Sorry to say ......... I don't think you understand at all ! Â It's not about the implementation of Health & Safety..................... it's more to do with the risk of a claim USING health & safety as the tool to do so............. this is why private sector organisations increasingly employ health & safety specialists ................. to reduce the risk of a claim being made against the company on the grounds of health & safety!! Â With regard to the enforcement of health and safety.......... this is very much on the back burner with minimal "routine" work now being undertaken by public sector enforcement (most enforcement is now reactive ..... ie accident generated). ......................... so its difficult to see where you get your "facts" from about "this being a health & safety dominated country" Â I can assure you I do understand all the implication of the H&S and the rules and penalties associated with them... . In my last five years of work, my whole life was spent justifying work procedures, responsibilities. and proportion of blame, so please except I am well aware of all the H&S issues. Because of this, we have become a country with a claim culture, someone always after a quick buck. Â The facts I outlined was taken from a panorama program. It said the UK had 48,000 employed solely with H&S business, costing companies Multi millions of pounds In France they employ 5 people, in Holland it was 10 . Why should they lie about such information.......

Kickitov
If Buster is so worried about health and safety, he should think about the amount of stones there are in the material he uses on the track. I was hit in the chest last week sitting at least 5 rows back in the Royal box by a stone the size a a 50 pence piece. Had it hit a young child in the face or eye I hate to think what damage it would cause.
Bagpuss
Been extremely windy all day in rural Norfolk and there are plenty of bits of tree laying around on exposed back roads, some big old bits. However the wind is nowhere near as strong now as it was and it does make you wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye. Â The first statement really should have mentioned the wind, poor PR once again.
mrss
Lovely evening now. Wind has dropped to a gentle breeze. No rain forecast. Here I am at home when I should be watching the Kings Lynn Stars v Rye House. Buster put a stop to that for some unknown reason.
Haza
i work with 4 Kings Lynn Stock Car regulars and they have ripped the p***s out of me and Kings Lynn Speedway all day they all say stock cars wouldn't be off - and how can I defend the club and the sport ? they have said how can speedway be taken seriously ? What a Micky Mouse sport was another comment , there is no way tonight's meeting should have been called off so early , I for one would like to no the real reason for the call off , I'd not blame Rye House for putting an official complaint and I think league point deduction wouldn't be a bad call to stop these no reason call offs .
cityrebel
Just like Kent should have been given a bye in the cup when Eastbourne pulled the plug on a fine summers day last Saturday.
mrss
Kings Lynn have clarified the reason for tonight's call off was due to strong wind. I have never in my 50 years of watching speedway known a match to be postponed because of wind. I have stood at Lynn in rain , hail and watched the frost form on top of the safety fence and the meetings carried on. I find tonight's excuse pathetic.

sommelier
Just like Kent should have been given a bye in the cup when Eastbourne pulled the plug on a fine summers day last Saturday. I was at Somerset last year in very bad wind, fence blown down on spectators, meeting should have been cancelled for the safety of the riders

kelvinht
Still can't really believe this is off. Forecast was for wind to die down and no rain until the wee small hours with a pleasant evening in prospect....and appears to be correct. Â Did Buster read the Michael Fish book of Fishy weather forecasts cos this one is sure as hell is lost on me. Â If the AFA had been left in a dodgy state after the wind and rain then fair call, but that appears not to be the case. Â Lost for words... Bald Bloke
Â If I was sceptical I'd say it's a bit of average manipulation with the next Premiership fixture being away to Somerset on the 16th June. Riding another home meeting would see the averages increase which we probably don't want. Knowing Lynn,i'd think not.It has been pretty windy most of the day.Plenty of sun with that wind.Track must of been good,if not a tad dry by 7.30.Wind just a breeze. At best a very premature call off.
Theboss
I remember in the Premier League days we run a few meetings at the end of October with wind, rain and hail storms battering the track and riders. In fact one night I am sure we had to race off of the green lights because the wind was to strong and we could not get the tapes to stay still. Â Definitely no health and safety issues back then either and I always had faith that everything was bolted down and secured as well as could be expected. Bald Bloke
If it were Poole,i'd cry rip off.Either Lynn have got ruthless over night or we are missing something
Shadders
Some people have mentioned average manipulation as the real reason KL found it convenient to use the weather as a reason to call this off. Not sure how that rule works. Last night would've been the sixth home meeting. Either way you shouldn't be able to call a meeting off without an inspection by an SCB official. Speedway is losing credibility fast in the UK. This isn't helping.
