Batchelor in for zengota

R/R for hans Andersen who's ridingnin denmark.

Bates for klindt as we know

Going back a few years , can I remember Matt Ford cancelling a meeting because his team wasn't up to scratch, and it wouldn't be fair on the paying fans :rofl:

To qualify for the play off cup a team only needs to win just over half their meetings. That obviously means they don't need to bother that much in nearly half their meetings.

Some idiots will tell you it's worth it for the big crowd (is 2500 that big?) the final attracts, completely ignoring the negative season long effect on attendances.

This looks like a meeting poole aren't that bothered about and the attendance will be affected.

Having said that, according to a couple of forum experts poole have been handed a significant boost by having bates instead of klindt so anything could happen.

Obviously you cant actually read posts!!

Did anyone say a significant boost??

No i think people were responding to Shovlar who said Poole would be weaker in this meeting now that Bates was riding instead of Klindt.

Merely just pointing out the facts that they wouldnt be.

Have a little read of posts before you actually post yourself

Yes he did.

I love it then when teams come to Poole with weakened sides then thats ok ( like Wolves will be tonight).......but if Poole go anywhere with a weak side then their fans cant be bothered to support them......very fickle

You said poole were strengthened by having bates for klindt?

At the risk of setting you off on a gormless pedantic moan, if my team is strengthened I would consider it a significant boost. In any case the bates/klindt thing at Belle Vue is far from clear cut. The difference certainly isn't enough of a basis to troll another forum user several times.

Whatever you think of the Bates/Klindt argument, we are weakened by not having Andersen or Zengota and although Zengota may not have ridden there before the track would most likely suit him and Andersen is going very well at the moment and is a massive loss and all we have to replace them are Batchelor and r/r!! If we get a point it will be a huge shock, I expect crowd levels will be reduced especially from a Poole perspective.

If I was the BV promotion I would think this fixture without the 'real' Poole would seriously affect my business plan income!! I would postpone it now - unless there is likely to be very little pre-publicity to announce the team changes, so that people turn up anyway?! :P:wink::wink::nono::shock:

I agree Poole are badly weakened without Zengota and Andersen. Batchelor has yet to score more than 5 there so isnt a great replacement.

I fancied Belle Vue anyway but even more so now

im assuming thats a tongue in cheek comment

there are always many different views in sport but if i was an aces fan id be saying bring on this weakened team lets get 3 pts which could be vital at the end of the season,as 3pts for poole tonite could be.

100% correct, its swings and roundabouts.

Cant see Matt Ford postponing tonight as Wolves are weakened

Didnt see to many Poole fans moaning that Leicester had to use 3 guests and R/R last week?

I agree it becomes daft but thats how the sport is run these days.

Some weeks it goes for you and some against you.

Poole had to ride a weakened Leicester team

Poole tonight ride a weakened Wolves team

However at Belle Vue its Poole who are weakened.

I agree that Poole are weakened by losing Andersen but Batchelor rode extremely well in his last appearance at the NSS when he a scored 13 and finished second in the Peter Craven Memorial. He should be a more than adequate replacement for Zengota.

13pts at the PCMT, I was there and can assure you, Batch rides the NSS very well.

This meeting must go ahead as it would be the same for any team.

Having said that there are far too many meetings going ahead with far too many guests. Surely, whoever sets up these fixtures should really think about the fans of the teams. They want to see their own riders not guests.

You can understand it for injuries but because of other meeting? So many teams miss week after week not having a fixture then when one comes along what do they get guests.

Just a thought perhaps they could look at fixtures that effect riders in the meeting due to be raced and fix it on one of the spare weeks.

Ah ok. It was just that the post directly before yours mentioned that batch was guesting for zengi

Shame Zengi isn't riding, just wondering during his temporary shift will he ride enough meetings to lower his average from his previous 7.91 in his Swindon days?......

Tbh it's not known how they will treat riders who have ridden a handful of meetings. If they keep the old average then it creates issues for teams making changes to 42, though opens up a myriad of guest opportunities (eg Doyle could guest for zengy). But of course if they change averages, could mean someone like zengy drops to a 5 point average based on a couple of poor meetings. Bspa have really made a mess of this!
