ruckerroo
Well done to both sides, sounds like tricky conditions and slow times but no prima donna stuff. Credit to the league

Congrats to both teams brilliant add for the NL

Congrats to both teams brilliant add for the NL When they made their re-declaration to bring Jake Knight in before Saturdays deadline Alex Spooner was the unavoidable 3 pointer to make it work. Spooner almost immediately changed his mind leaving them short for Saturdays planned match with Kent which was postponed. I believe Saul was a short gap volunteer to fill in the re- declaration while a replacement was found and Hampshire is their desired target. Would not surprise me if Hampshire is declared at No 6 , Saul at No 8 & given a pit job. Very difficult being a promoter in this mainly young and amateur league where riders come and go at the drop of a hat to suit their other life preferences. gazzac
Shame we lost the 10 point lead with 3 heats to go but the 5/1's in heats 13 and 15 always looked likely with the form Carr and Clegg were in, and no blame on Charley who was excellent all night, if he'd not had his nasty fall we'd have sneaked it. Still 2 points is a good result at Brum, and just shows how competitive the nl is disregarding the guests. Still think a similar result would have happened if both teams had their usual riders. Maybe we'll find out later in the season in the playoffs or koc. Edited June 8, 2017 by gazzac

TurnTwo
He cannot guest in the Championship for a number 7 as he has achieved higher than a 3 point average in the championship

The fact is, the reserves couln't handle the wet conditions, except Powell, who was excellent. Brilliant ride from Knight, who went from 15 metres to win in one race; and fantastic Heat 13! That's really what I ment, although was looking at it from Easties perspective having got the 10 point lead whether by luck with Clegg in heat one, or skill in the wet.Taking into account all the if's and but's and the bad weather a draw was the right result, and certainly wasn't having a go at Powell, he was excellent in the conditions, expect his grass tracking experience helped! Twowheels
A big well to all involved, riders all got stuck in with rain on and off all night. Could of gone both ways. So Glad it was not cancelled, so many times we see rain offs and no rain, this time we had rain and the riders rode within there limits. Track was even watered just enough to give the best chance of a good night of racing, any more water would have caused problems. Times were below ave, but this did not effect the entertainment value. Speed does not always make for good racing. Richard

Hunters
Would Probably have to be a double change him and leek with mason and smart possibly Not possible now as Birmingham on new averages. The way the system works only like for like replacements unless a re-declaration for two or more which has to be at a team total of 39. Makes any replacement for Ritchings almost impossible unless a better like for like can be found at his average. This is why we were saying Eastbourne had a deadline of June 2nd to re declare in order to bring Jake Knight in. After that date new averages meant that we could not re-declare to 39 as we were way over with Brennan alone increasing from 3 to 9.7. In simple terms Birmingham's current GSA total is now 45.67 . Taking out Ritchings and Leek drops it to 35.12 leaving 3.88 to bring in two replacements, not possible of course. This is a problem facing all teams after they have completed four league meetings. As a foot note this is one of the penalties of starting with such a low points limit (39) when the across the board average is going to jump to 42 after those first 4 matches. The situation will be compounded if he continues to drop his average because any like for like replacement will have to be at his then current average not his starting one. Oh got you fair enough well there goes our top 4 chances then i am afraid with Many other teams strengthening makes us look a little vulnerable now we wont be winning many away fixtures and as yesterday showed will drop points at home... Don't be too despondent I still make it a 6 horse race for the top 4 and Brum are in with a chance against Cradley and Lakeside I feel for the 4th place. If, and I pray I am wrong, there are one or two injuries to some of the top 6 then the whole thing will be wide open as there is precious little chance of anybody finding like for like or managing a re-declaration with the lack of more suitable British riders.

Not a problem for all teams. Some have handsomely strengthened in Plymouth and Lakeside. Also there's no point in replacing Ritchings. There's no-one available any better and he was doing good until this leg burn.
