Poole Pirates Vs Wolverhampton Wolves 7/6/17

I would be interested to know if Josh was first choice guest. Nick Morris has even said in the press that he has 'sussed out the Poole track' !!

Yeh, do believe he quoted that after purchasing a new Tom Tom go 6002 to avoid all the holes in Poole track!

Well that was an eventful nights entertainment.

Started with absolute nonsense on the gate. Making people put their walkets, cards, keys in a bowl then inspecting everything, followed by making old ladies stand with their arms outstreched as some guy runs a buzz stick over her. Edna has been going to Poole since 1948 and I don't think has been radicalized. Made to stand there with arms outstretched was disgraceful. In fact there are probably only a handful of muslims in Dorset, so it was nonsense. Better and bigger targets for terrorists than a sport they have never heard of.

Now onto the meeting. How the hell did we win tonight with that weak lineup? Amazing. Step forward Brady Kurtz who has come of age. Rides like a number one. Is a number one. Head and shoulders above every rider tonight. Poole hugely missed Klindt. He would have had 7 rides and no doubt a double fingure score. Add to that Zengota who, with no disrespect, is not a number one, and also Newman who had about his worst every meeting and the writing was on the wall. Yet Poole have a fighting spirit and showed that at the death to an unexpected and unlikely victory from the jaws of defeat.

For Poole.

Zengota found the going tough. Never led a race. Only his first outing so gets some benefit but KK was better.

Holder continues to impress, getting better all the time.

Newman had a mare until his last race. Mixed it but didn't have speed as a heat went on. Bike packing up on the start in a race he would have scored in didn't help.

Kurtz was simply brilliant. Untouchable.

Andersen was very good and in heat 15 showed experience to beat Schlein, when many were calling for Holder to be in the heat.

Bates was no replacement for Klindt but did manage an important point in heat 14.

Shanes had two very poor rides before managing to pass The Wolves number 7 in his last.

Wolves. Josh G did as expected. A few less than Lindgren would have scored.

Howarth was very good. Best he has ridden Poole recently. Deserved heat 15.

Thorsell was on his usual Poole form. Looks a world beater at Monmore and a poor second string at Poole.

Masters did his usual Poole performance.

Schlein was excellent tonight. Fast and agressive. Best he has been at Poole for a while.

Riss did an ok job as did Greaves.

Poole struggle to compete without Klindt and need to sort out the issue at the top. Zengota should improve but I am currently not convinced he is going to be a big enough scorer. Time will tell but tonight I am just going to savour this unlikely victory.

got that trolling fishing rod out again I see!

you are the only person on here saying that it was an unlikely victory................everyone else knows Poole should have won it comfortably

You missed Klindt so add another 7 on your score...........Wolves missed Lindgren so add another 7 on their score.

Please please tell me your trolling......................even you aren't thick enough to believe what you wrote

Poole should've won by double figures, are they perhaps kidding themselves so they don't come to the realisation that their current team is below their usual standards this year?

Just back from a damp-ish and cold Wimborne Road where I've just witnessed Poole play their 'Get out of Jail Free' card in a superb heat 15 by maximum man Kurtz and Mr Supportive, Captain Hans. Pretty much the only heat when both Pirates actually gated!!!!

Having predicted a 43-47 loss I am delighted at those 3 points whilst sharing the obvious doubts about the overall strength of the team. Matt Ford's programme notes - reported in the local Echo earlier today - makes it very clear that he doesn't believe the current 1-7 is strong enough.

Amongst the understandable rumours circulating tonight - had Poole lost then upto 3 changes were being considered, not withstanding how long Nicolai may be out now with his injured knee.

Old ladies stand with their arms outstretched as some guy runs a buzz stick over her, things are looking up at Poole, my Missus said she will be first in the queue for the next meeting!!!
